EGO EG0800 8-Inch 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Earth Auger with Ergonomic Handle Design and Anti-Kickback System, Battery and Charger Not Included

I had a few post holes to dig and tried to start my old gas post hole machine. Needless to say it wouldn’t start and so since I have many EGO products and I saw this I pounced . Like all EGO products, It is easy to use and really works well (watch the big rocks tree roots and hidden pipes). It works with my existing battery assortment so no extra cost there. It has a tremendous amount of torque so you have be careful. You can get extensions for the bit if you want to dig to china but if you are an ice fisherman they have an ice auger that works with the head! Like all EGO products it is well built , and even has a reverse feature that I never had with the gas machine. This comes in handy when you hit that unseen obstruction and reversing makes it easy to untangl .

Listen, we are 2 women putting in an acres worth of fencing. This auger is priceless. You can you it individually just fine but with 2 people it really shines. We dug 32 pre marked holes in about 30 minutes, so far. On one charge, fam.The built in safety for hitting roots and rocks is amazing so you don’t break your wrists. If you can’t use a tractor and punch your way through then don’t get beaten up with a gas auger. Great buy!

Once again Ego has knocked it out of the park. I have several augers from a 12" pto driven unit to the gas powered 2 man units. This electric unit has plenty of torque to dig in this GA. clay that has plenty of rocks and roots. The option to reverse direction is a game changer.plenty of battery life, quality, ease of cleaning definitely equal value.

Pretty solid! It is easy to use, no issues with battery life. A bit heavy, but it got the job done! :) I was able to dig the holes I needed in no time. Tore through roots and everything.

Strong, quiet auger. Drilled 5 holes 24 inches deep in less than 10 minutes. Easy to use, a little heavy but I knew that when I bought it. The overall quality is better than I expected.

This unit has amazing torque. The 4 AMh battery discharged by 75% by the 20th hole. I was digging on sandy loam soil with some rocks mixed in. I was planting 5 gallon size proteas.I will have to buy a larger battery to complete my tasks.

I couldn't control it in our hardpan soil. I've seen other more robust than myself have the same complaint. If you're going to use this in soil without a lot of rocks it's fine but in rocky soil it will beat you up. The kick back doesn't stop it in time and you'll have bruised thighs - like me!If you want to try it in rocky soil I recommend getting the 4" arbor as the 8" is just too hard to control. It's a beast!
