The media could not be loaded.  I initially received a defective ratchet. I love the design of this tool, and I love the functionality of everything,, but the ratchet simply did not work properly. Fortunately, the company did two things:1. they told me about an easy fix2. they offered to replace my itemI am uploading a new video showing how I fixed the issue, according to their suggested approach. This approach is also described in another review. You simply spin the ratchet with a drill for a few minutes. I had to do it for about 5 minutes (my video cuts out part of the time spent so you won't be bored watching a drill spin a ratchet for several minutes). At first, I did not think it was going to work, but I kept spinning it and after about 5 minutes, the ratchet was fully functional and held a lot of torque.Here's the essence of my original review:-----------------------------------This ratchet will not properly tighten or loosen to even a very light torque level. The ratchet mechanism slips instead of transmitting your torque to the bolt. It slips incredibly easily in both directions.My (original) video demonstrated that it would not properly tighten a bolt. It would not tighten anything much more than you can tighten with your fingers. (Amazon only allows one video per review, so I had to delete the original to upload this one showing the fix.)If the ratchet worked properly, I would rate this 5 stars. (Update: now I am rating it 5 stars!) It has a design that could be very handy. I originally gave it 2 stars because the concept is great and the rest of the set is nice. But there is no reason to purchase this without a working ratchet.Another reviewer changed their 1-star rating (due to the same issue I describe) to a 5-star rating and offered a helpful tip that increases the amount of torque you can apply before the ratchet slips. In my experience, that solution did not seem not sufficient, as it still slips far too easily. Note: that's because I did not spin it long enough with the drill. As my new video shows, it works very well now.-----Also, the company is aware of this issue and it is unlikely yours will suffer from it. However, if you have any problems, the company will take care of you. For me, this is a uniquely designed, very functional tool. I love it (now that it works properly).

I wish I bought this before assembling my new shelf! Sleek design with a magnetic cover. The rachet feels nicely heavy on the hands. Very good tools to keep around the house.

Obwohl ich von den anderen Produkten von Steinwhale sehr begeistert bin, sowohl was Funktion als auch Haptik/Qualität anbelangt, ist diese "Ratsche" leider nicht zu gebrauchen. Die "Ratsche", die nicht im eigentlichen Sinne eine ist, da sie keinen formschlüssigen, mechanischen Ratschen-Mechanismus hat, sondern nur einen auf Reibung basierenden kraftschlüssigen Mechanismus (deshalb auch kein typisches Ratschen-Geräusch), dreht schon bei geringem Kraftaufwand durch, sie ist so nur für sehr, sehr leichtschlüssige Verbindungen/Verschraubungen nutzbar. Ich hatte extra 2 Geräte kommen lassen, da ich dachte, es sei ein Fehler, aber beide Produkte verhielten sich absolut identisch. Schade!!!

Bits are solid including the sockets. So not a bad buy for just those. The ratchet is NOT flush. It has about an inch protrusion if you include the forward/reverse mechanism and the bit holder that doesn’t come out. It is gearless but mine needs more rotation than a regular 72-tooth ratchet to get moving. Have not tested ratchet for heavy duty applications yet.

This is a really slick tool to have around. If you know someone with a tool pail or box full of individual screwdrivers, they need one of these in their lives. I’ve seen other ratchet screwdriver sets in the past but was not satisfied with their selection of bits - this one has it all, even the large Robinson bits which you don’t typically find in these sets.Everything about this set is just intelligent. It is better than a set of conventional screwdrivers in every possible way, with no downsides attached. With all of the possible combinations you can make using the combination handle/extension pieces there will be no place you can’t reach, and no amount of leverage you won’t be able to apply.The ratchet mechanism works really well. Turns very smooth with no binding, and the ratchet grabs immediately as soon as you change direction. I would love to know what the inner workings of the ratchet are because it’s nothing like the conventional style - no clicking and no slack when reversing direction. I am a bit skeptical about the longevity of the ratchet because I assume that all of the other conventional ratchets are designed that way for a reason and I’m guessing that there must have been some sacrifices made in order to achieve this in this ratchet design. For now though it’s working perfectly.Overall I’m very satisfied with this tool. If you know anyone who lugs around a big tool box full of screwdrivers I think this would make an incredibly thoughtful gift that they will probably be reminded of every time they have to lift it.
