Real-life Korean Conversations for Beginners (English and Korean Edition)

After working my way through the first three books of the Talk To Me In Korean grammar series (the beginner books, Levels 1-3), I decided to order "Real-Life Korean Conversations for Beginners" to have extra practice at the beginner level. Like all their books, it is beautifully laid out, with really helpful everyday phrases and great explanations of grammar and pronunciation. My one piece of advice is: this is definitely for advanced beginners, even early intermediate level. There are expressions in the book that are brand new for me and it takes a few days to really absorb each lesson. With the right concentration, though, I succeed -- and then it's very rewarding, definitely pushing me onto a new level. I recommend it highly for this stage of learning!

3For anyone with a foothold on Korean, this book is right in between the textbooks with their limited readings and the "beginner readers" whose vocabulary is quite a bit beyond 'beginning;' or, as the Krashenites would say, at i+5 instean of i+1. This book is about i+2 or 3.

All in all, I really liked this book and the accompanying audio files. It's well laid out, the lessons are a good length, the dialogs are clear and easy to follow. I would recommend this book for Korean language learners who have completed at least a few months of study. Each lesson introduces two grammar points, but it's more of a review than a real grammar lesson. And some dialogs have slightly more complicated grammar that isn't explained, so if you haven't been introduced to it already, it might be hard to understand why it translates the way it does. But, for a student who has the basic grammar down, I think this is a really great resource for improving listening skills.

I bought this book because I saw many of my friends and people on social media using this book. I enjoy it and it is a good investment.

I love this book, it's full of great information that we use in my conversational Korean class. The dialogues are realistic and believable, with different forms of honorifics and slag depending on the relationship of the people speaking. Plus there's a cultural tip after every conversation, as well as grammar points to keep in mind when reading/writing. Can't recommend this book enough for folks learning Korean.

Includes vocab and grammar work. Really useful resource!Included audio (from their app) is well done!

I bought this book to help my daughter in her advancement of the Korean language. very good book to add the the collection. very easy to navigate for new learners.
