These bars are filling and delicious. Even my husband was happy to have this bar for lunch while hiking, instead of a full meal.

Great energy boost and provides a great alternative to gels. I use them in the afternoons for a boost.

I like the Ucan gels but the bars tasted horrible to me. I didn’t like them. I will stick to the Ucan gels

I'm a cyclist, and I'm always looking for easy to pack foods that meet the nutritional profile that I need while expending a lot of energy. It's not uncommon for me to be out on 3-4 hour rides, and that requires a substantial amount of carbohydrates. These bars are small and easy to pack along, and help keep me fueled during longer rides.The taste and texture are great - it's a soft bar that is chocolate coated. Reminds me a lot of bars that used to be popular in the 80's in the days before Powerbar became a thing (man, did I eat a lot of Powerbars in my life!). The only negative here is the chocolate coating - it will melt if it's hot out or held next to your skin. So, not ideal for summer exercise outdoors.The nutrition profile and ingredients are pretty good with this one - it's called an "energy bar" because it's a bar that is high carb, moderate to low protein and fat. It also doesn't have a ton of added sugar. If you are trying to go low carb, this is not the bar for you. It's meant to be useful for people who need more carbs in their diet. The ingredient list is generally natural 'stuff' without any of the common sugar substitutes (they use monk fruit extract). That's all a win in my book! I found this bar super easy to digest - a critical thing when you are on a bike far from home!The only other minor negative with this product is the cost per bar. At the going rate it's about $3/bar. That's a bit on the spendy side. Not a deal killer, but it's one of the more expensive bars I've tried.Overall recommendation is that these bars are worth a shot - 4 stars! If it were a little less expensive (or you can grab them when on sale) then it's a 5 star product!
