Q: How tall is the middle shelf?

The bottom of the lower shelf is 2 inches off the table, about .5 in thick, and has a 2 inch clearance under the bottom of the top shelf. The lower shelf is 37 inches wide & 10 inches deep. However, you lose about 1.5 inches on each side for the brackets. Between 9.5 & 27.5 inches, there are 3 small walls that make a little cubby. The walls help attach the shelf to the rest of the unit. But just wanted to let you all know that it's NOT a fully open space in between the 2 shelves.
