This sprouting kit plus organic sprouting sunflower seeds (also from Amazon) and filtered tap water made all the difference for me. I had tried and failed with WF buik sunflower kernels in an old jar topped with a tea strainer that I kept under kept under the kitchen sink and rinsed with regular tap water: nothing germinated. Using this kit with better seeds, filtered water, and the blackout sleeves set on top of the fridge worked like a charm the first time I tried even though I'm new at this.Having the option of covering or not covering each jar individually with or without its blackout sleeve gives me the flexibility to grow darkness-loving sprouts such as sunflower side-by-side with another kind of sprouts that prefer growing in more light.Everything in this kit seems to be well thought out and well made. It's simple and convenient, and I'm looking forward to using it for many years to come.

I like the stand itself that keeps them in angle and collects access water.
