It's a well built live trap for pesky garden pests

I was very disappointed with this trap. It is not heavy enough to trap raccoons. The floor trip broke the first night. It might work if you were catching rabbits or your neighbors small dog.

I have one smart and strong racoon that got out the back. Bent the securing rod --even managed to bend the trigger rod. I put the trap back together and put wire ties securing the back. Suggest you do the same just incase. The first night made the mistake of putting the bait under the trap. He tipped it over. Second night I place a heavy brick on top--tipped that over and somehow got the bait out. Third night --staked the trap that's when he tore the trap up.

Originally got this to trap a raccoon that was coming into our cat's back shed room and literally sleeping on top of his house. Never did trap the raccoon but I did trap....the cat. Atleast I know the trigger mechanism works. I eventually just returned it because I'm accepting the raccoon I'm after is too wily for this. He also hasn't been coming around often so it's less of a concern now. However, if you have animals that are constantly in your vicinity, this is great. Easy to setup and get it armed once you learn it. Would recommend.

I watched as a rabbit walked into the trap and step on the trigger for the trap and it didn't go off. The trap didn't work well, the trigger to set the trap isn't sensitive at all, I had to push hard for it to go off. The door to open the trap to let go an animal was also hard to open, it kept getting stuck

Metal trap arrived on time & was easy to set up with NO tools! Caught 3 Racoons & 2 Possums the first 2 nights. One Bull Racoon tried it's best to tear up the cage but it stood up to the abuse & is set & ready tonight #3. I followed earlier review's suggestion to zip tie the front & back panel frames to the cage which prevents an aggressive animal from kicking the front or back end out. Painted black is also good. Easily folds back up for storage if desired. Racoons have been climbing atop our pool cage & using as a trampoline causing damage climbing up & down so this is already a great investment. Recommend for sure.
