Excellent Arbor Press for the Price
This arbor press is a real good press for the price. This is not a precision instrument by an means. But I did not expect super high quality. I hoped for a serviceable small arbor press and that's what I got. The machining was much better than I expected. It was heavily covered in grease for shipping and had to be cleaned thoroughly. There was no debris found in the machined threads on the body of the press, but I cleaned them out anyway. There was no shim between the ram and the adjustment screws through the body so I made one from a scrap of thin sheet metal. (The shim keeps the screws from directly contacting the ram so the they don't gauge the ram.) The base was ever so slightly uneven on the bench. About three passes with a file and it now sits flat on my work bench. I also did the ram "ratchet" mod as seen on YouTube so I can get the handle in position for best leverage. I spent about an hour and a half cleaning up and modding the press. Now it's ready to be used as a fret press in my gutiar building shop.I rated it five stars because this arbor press is better than I expected for $50. In my opinion, any craftsman needs to know how to tweak his tools for best performance. This press is a great basic press for a low price ready to be put to good use with a few tweaks. Spend way more money if you want a high quality press that will still require some user setup. But, if you need a serviceable press that you only use occasionaly than I recommend this one.BTW, the first press arrived broken with obvious shipping damage to the packaging. The vendor shipped this replacement within the same day I reported the return.

Gift for my Hubby
Solid design and functionality but weighs a bloody ton! Hubby loved it but it requires adjustments to use.

Takes a lot of work out of fret work.
I kept putting off this purchase getting by with bar claps or my bench top drill press. I should have made this press a priority. My fret pressing in guitar necks has never been better.

Nice press for the price, missing parts out of the box.
Update: Three weeks after contacting Vevor customer service and they are still telling me it will be "a few weeks".If you get a bum unit, skip customer service and return it.Seems like a decent unit, IF it isn't missing a critical part. If it had come with everything it was supposed to, this would be a five star rating. I have it jury rigged and mostly working while I wait two weeks for a component from VEVOR.When I got it, I checked the pinion against the milled deck with a calibrated machinist square and found it to be technically off, but close enough that it doesn't matter for anything I'm ever going to do with this thing. If you really need ultra precision, this is not the machine for you, unless you want to screw around with shimming the pinion up and re-milling the castings. If you're not sure if you need that level of precision, you do not.I specifically ordered the model with the handwheel. It arrived missing the half moon key for the handwheel, making the handwheel pointless.I checked inside the bag that the manual comes in, hoping it would be in there, and noticed as I was doing so that the manual was for a different model of press (no handwheel). After contacting VEVOR customer support and supplying all of the pictures and information they needed, they said it will take 10-15 days on top of the 4 days spent dealing with customer service to receive a replacement key, because they have to ship the key (a piece of metal smaller than a penny) on the slow boat from China. That's three weeks that I can't use the thing for its intended purpose. Thankfully I can keep it put together enough to function with the lever arm.VEVOR, consider stocking small parts somewhere in the US. I should have just returned this thing as defective and hoped the replacement had all the parts, but by the time I realized it was going to take so long, I had already burned the box.

Good Quality for Cost
This small desktop arbor press is compact, sturdy, and perfect for light-duty tasks like metal stamping and bearing installation. Assembly was quick and straightforward, with clear instructions and minimal effort required. Despite its small size, the solid cast-iron construction provides great stability, and the lever mechanism allows for smooth, controlled pressure. Ideal for hobbyists, jewelers, and machinists who need precision in a space-saving design. Highly recommended! 🔧👏

Its ok. It works
Opening the box , I thought I needed to call in hazmat! This was COVERED in oil. Looking like it was plucked from the deck of the Exxon Valdez. Next, the casting of the steel is primitive at best. Looks like it was made in one of the reels you see on FB. If not made there, some of their equipment. Yes it doesn't cost a lot, but it should do the job... hopefully. Obviously if you want nice looking shop equipment, this isn't for you. It's actually embarrassingly ugly. It will perform it's basic function... Pressing things. So if your shop resembles a third world shop in Bangladesh, you're probably good to go with this. Otherwise, spend more money or pick up a used quality/ name brand.
