Good eatring
What can I say, have been eating them for years still the same. Not home made but satify the craze.

Tasty
These are not really tamales. But my mom served them up in the 1940s so they are a trip back to childhood for me. Not too spicy. Served Them in a family dinner this week smothered with cheese and surrounded bye chili. My family, Who will not eat them from the can, ate them up and pronounced tasty. Reading the reviews and seeing othersuggestions for dressing these up is giving me ideas for my next meal. Be brave and innovative

Way too much sodium
These wouldn't be bad if they weren't so horribly salty. Now if I think they're salty, that's saying a lot, because I like a little salt in things, but not in canned tamales. Each can tastes like it has an entire box of salt in it. I think I will stick to making my own tamales. They take an entire day to make but the taste can't be beat! With these canned tamales, I had to drain all the sauce off, rinse them in a colander, AND remove the papers from them before heating them in the microwave. Then they were edible IF I sprinkled them with a generous amount of queso fresco, pico de gallo, chopped avocado, and a dollop of sour cream. They still were a bit salty, but at least somewhat edible. I wouldn't buy them again, though. That's a lot to go through just to make them edible, but I hate to waste food. Enough said...I won't purchase them again.

A great side for quesadillas
A good texture and taste contrast for cheese and bell pepper quesadillas. Easy and fast to heat up stovetop or microwave. These tamales and sauce are mild. I like my quesadillas and tamales with dips of Pace picante sauce and sour cream. Delicious, and so easy.

This is a nostalgia food for me
My mom grew up in Southern California so had access to Mexican food; when she married, she moved to Chicago where, at the time, there weren't any Mexican foods. So she bought these tamales and this is what I grew up eating, these and Taco Bell. These are to true Mexican food as Chef Boyardee or Franco American spaghetti is to real spaghetti. I'll eat both types but don't even try to compare them, they are two different things and each has it's own place. Very infrequently, I like to have a few of these canned tamales just for old time sake, just remember a simpler time. Can't say they're good since I do now have real tamales I can have, but can't say they're not good either. They just are and I'm glad I can still find a can even now.

Always good!
I buy these at the grocery store a lot and my boyfriend loves them. I yak buy the Hormel chicken ones for myself but Amazon doesn't carry them. I usually unwrap them and lay them side by side in a dish and sprinkle them with shredded cheese and microwave them for a few minutes and they are great!
