Best monitor for home working and gaming
If you're serious about gaming, this monitor is going to blow your mind. The QHD resolution packs in 1.7x more detail than Full HD, so every scene looks razor-sharp—like you're actually inside the game. And with the 1000R curved screen, everything wraps around you for full-on immersion. It’s not just playing anymore—it’s experiencing. The 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time mean zero lag and buttery-smooth action, so you're always one step ahead—no excuses when you miss a shot! Plus, with AMD FreeSync, your monitor and graphics card stay perfectly in sync, so there's no tearing or stutter to ruin the moment. And let’s not forget the HDR10. Whether you're creeping through dark corners or soaking in vibrant open worlds, the colours are rich, the blacks are deep, and the visuals are absolutely stunning. Once you game on this, there’s no going back.

Ultrawide productivity rocket—fantastic screen, limited wall mount flexibility
After a decade of dual‑monitor coding I tried the 34‑inch Samsung Odyssey G5 (model LC34G55TWWPXXU) for my office, and I’m honestly wondering why I waited. The 21:9 canvas lets Visual Studio sprawl—code left, Solution Explorer right, terminal tucked below—without the bezel break or constant Alt‑Tab shuffle.Where the Odyssey shinesStrength Real‑world win3440 × 1440 VA panel Razor‑sharp text and deep contrast make long debugging sessions easy on the eyes.300 nit brightness & 1000R curve Even office overheads don’t wash it out; curvature keeps corners from feeling distant.Single‑screen workflow No more dragging windows between mismatched displays—build logs, design mock‑ups, and docs all coexist.Freed‑up desk space One slim chassis replaces two bulky stands, giving my mechanical keyboard room to breathe.Stand & ergonomicsThe ability to adjust height range with wall mount is limited as the rear plate isn’t flush, so a VESA arm will give you far more flexibility. I could nudge it just high enough for posture‑friendly eye‑line, but taller users might struggle.Gaming footnoteI bought it purely for software development, so I can’t vouch for 165 Hz performance—but scrolling, video playback, and window resizing are all buttery smooth, hinting the refresh headroom is there.VerdictIf your day is wall‑to‑wall IDEs, spreadsheets, or timeline‑based apps, the Odyssey G5 is a productivity game‑changer. Factor in the cost of a decent monitor arm and it’s near‑perfect; stick with the stock stand and you’ll trade some of that wide‑screen bliss for ergonomic compromises.

Dead pixels and ghosting
Sent me the wrong item first then sent me a monitor with large amounts of dead pixelsI noticed this monitor has a lot of ghosting.Panel feels cheap. I have two other Samsung monitors from previous generations and they seem to be getting worse, feels like a no name brand when it comes to overall quality probably better off with a no name brandSkip the odyssey 5

Dead pixels but other wise happy
It is a quality monitor. It can run 4k uhd on 60hz and 1440p on 120hz on a Xbox. When I first bought this and it arrived I thought It would be great but there are a couple letdowns eg I have over time noticed dead pixels which is a shame and the stand is really big and chunky not well suited for small desks. On the positive it has nice nice colour and alright brightness but the response time max setting (MBR) flickers. I would say it’s a game of luck if you get one with no dead pixels it’s great but if you do it’s just a bit of a let down
