Works Like A Dream
I used this product for what it was designed for. I had trouble using it the fourth time as I had already gone through three bottles of wine. Does what it says. Packaged well and arrived very quickly.

Great bit of fun
A great bit of fun. Bought as a present for dad who I've been known to enjoy a bottle of wine with from time to time. Just screw in, hold firmly and gently pull the tail. Don't know how long it will last, as there are some very mixed reviews below, but it says it has a 5 yr guarantee so hopefully it will last a while.

Rubbish quality AVOID
We had owned a gold Lazy Fish for well over 10 years until it finally gave up.However, this one lasted barely 7 months.Poor quality (see photo).Contacted Barcrafts rearding the 'broken' item but no reply.Disappointing customer service.

Fabulous but with limitations
This is a solid and weighty piece of, mainly, metal that gives the impression it should give many years of service. When mounting it on the wall, I found the position of the holes in the mounting bracket made thru-drilling and screwing-home difficult, as the holes are part-obscured by the Opener itself.Once mounted the handle cannot be left in the up position, so the worm presses down onto the cork as the bottle is offered up unless one lifts the handle simultaneously but, you will see below, the handle-lifting hand may otherwise be occupied at this point. If the handle is not fully raised prior to pushing handle down, then a cam does not engage, the worm comes down without rotating and the cork will, probably, be pushed into the bottle - note my previous comment on handle position, if it parked in the up position, proper cam engagement would always occur. The worm on this is thicker than that on my old “rabbit” corkscrew, this means greater force is needed than with a rabbit and resisting that force is something that I cannot do with just the hand holding the bottle. Hence, I need to rest the bottle on a solid object (upturned coffee mug, stack of coasters, etc) to resist that force. As wine bottles vary in height, I need to find a different support object for each bottle. Also, as the bottle must be manoeuvred under the polycarbonate cup protector, around the worm - one cannot just slide the bottle, on its appropriate support, horizontally across the work surface and beneath the worm.Once the cork is fully pierced by the worm, the cork is readily removed from the bottle providing that the top of the bottle was near the tip of worm before the handle was brought down, otherwise the worm may not sufficiently pierce the cork and attempted extraction may then break it.Once extracted the cork should be removed from the worm by continuing to raise the handle to its full extent, however the collar that should remove the cork is too wide and sometimes the cork disappears into the shaft, rather than being removed and ejected.Obviously, some of these are design and manufacturing issues - the wall bracket should be slightly wider, the handle should park in the up position, the polycarbonate cup protector could, perhaps, be open to the rear, the cork removing collar should be smaller, etc. But despite all these issues I’m happy to award a solid 4 Stars!N.B I bought this from Amazon Warehouse where it was accurately described as “Like New in damaged packaging” but, unfortunately, no Instructions were included, and I apologise if my comments above reflect that omission.Addendum - I have contacted Barcraft to request an Instructions leaflet but they advise the only instructions included just advise how to mount the product using the screws and plugs provided.Addendum 2 - after almost 2 years of regular use (perhaps 200 corks) the tip of the screw is now bent almost horizontal, so that, rather than the screw penetrating the cork, it pushes the cork into the bottle. I don’t believe it came with a spare.

Effective, study and looks great!
Feels like it will last years, copes well with stubborn corks and doesn't need you to have muscles like Samson to pull them out! Pricier than the average but well worth it for me.
