This Machine slaps
First off my name is Mark Tierney. My wife and I share this account, but this is my review of the Mummy Anubis Tattoo Machine. This machine is absolutely amazing. The adjustable stroke length is honestly the best part. You can jump from lining, shading and color packing on the spot. The battery lasted way longer than advertised, which I tattooed for about 6-7 hours and I still had about half the battery life. There’s also a display that clocks your time using the machine which is a pretty cool feature as well. The Mummy Anubis is literally my favorite machine I’ve ever used, from the second I turned it on I felt like I had used it a thousand times and there was learning curve to adjust to. Outstanding machine and I recommend it to anyone who is considering buying it.

Versatile and powerful
I used this machine to learn various cam lengths (which controls depth of needle per turn of the motor) This machine helped me with my black and grey lighter tones and also helped me get in there on the longer strokes like 4.2. Over All Very good Machine

No needle safety, incorrect throw, nonstop snags
The media could not be loaded. To start with, the needle hangs out of the cartridge even when the machine is not running - creating unnecessary risk for an accidental needle stick. This was true of 6 brands of needle that I tested with the machine, and it does not happen with any other rotary machine I have used. The throw at the lowest setting (2.2mm) is still well over 4mm. The needle doesn’t appear to be going in and out of the cartridge correctly, and instead mostly vibrates in place, making lines shaky and snagging the skin nonstop when you try tattooing. I included a view of another machine in my (admittedly crappy) video so you can see the difference in how the needle moves in a functional machine. I used this once, and with a full charge it turned off 20 minutes in and refused to turn back on until an hour later, when it said it had a full charge once again without having been on a charger. All of these problems were egregious enough that I assumed I received a faulty machine, so I returned it and got a new one — with ALL the same issues. Multiple artists in my shop used it on some practice skin and agree it is pretty much completely unusable for a tattoo. I’m shocked by and suspicious of the reviews raving about this. I love my other mummy machine so much that I had high hopes here, but it really is a bad machine.

QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY
The media could not be loaded. This machine is so nice! I've used quite a few machines over my years of tattooing, and this just might be my new favorite pen style machine! It runs so quiet and smooth...In my video I start the machine at 4.2mm stroke and 7 volts (typical liner variation use) and you can hear the jump start feature, then it levels and is practically silent.I'm very happy with this machine and can't wait to produce some solid artwork with another great machine.

Runs incredibly rough. UNUSABLE at certain needle depths.
I have another mummy machine, so this isn't a shot at mummy. With that being said, I'm very disappointed with this machine. Right out of the box, I turn it on and it sounds so smooth. It seems built well out of the box....until I put a cartridge in.I put a cartridge in to see how it runs and make sure the adjustable stroke is accurate (it is) but right away it was completely unusable. Why? It runs so damn chattery and rough. My needle was bouncing everywhere and it sounds like someone shaking a bag of marbles. It is the complete opposite of smooth, and you could hear it chatter from across the shop.I decided to do some practice tattoos with it, and was able to adjust the needle depth to a sweet spot to where it wasn't so chattery. But that doesn't make it good. It was a compromise. The machine is COMPLETELY UNUSABLE at certain needle depths, especially at a higher stroke.I have to say, I give it a 2 star because when I could get it to run smoothly, which was annoying that I had to do, it ran beautifully and I loved the back weight and how it felt in my hand.I may have a faulty machine, so take this with a grain of salt, but it definitely has less kick than othe Mummy models. It seems to have some give to it.Very unhappy, and will be returning my product, hopefully for a new one. I will update this review if needed.

Tried in true
I travel all over the world. And tattoo constantly on tour. And back at my shop. I Need a machine that is a work horse an It does everything I've tried this machine and it's very true. Love it. And highly recommend.
