This light is a beast - compact for it's power and features
This is my first COB RGBWW light fixture and I'm impressed with the unit. It is a versatile beast, with the wattage I need. It has separate warm and cool white LEDs and an easy to use green/magenta color correction. So it is both a white light, as well as an RGB effects light. It's relative heavy, but it also has good airflow and cooling, making it quieter than my other COB lights. I like the ergonomics, including the dual handles in back to make repositioning the light easier - many lights just omit any ergonomic way to handle the unit, and since it doesn't have a U-shaped bail, the handles also serve as a way to carry the light.I'm not wild about the baby receiver that connects with the light stand. It is plastic. I prefer a U-shaped bail, which is stronger and puts the pivot point closer to the center of gravity. They are better for larger modifiers like large soft boxes (if they are built well - back in the day Arri open face halogen spots typically had bent bails because they were too weak for the heavy soft boxes people used the lights for). But U-shaped bails make lights a bit bulkier. There is an umbrella clamp on the light for people who use umbrellas - this is one of the ways this category of LED light owe more of their features to monoblock still strobes than to the hot lights of video and film production. (Lowell lights notwithstanding...)The light has minimal controls in back and a monochromatic screen. Aputure has chosen to put the sophisticated controls in the app, which is ok, but I still wouldn't have minded a color screen in back.It comes with a 48 volt power supply. Unlike my prosumer COB lights that repurposed stock computer power supply bricks, the Amaran power brick has a long enough cord going from the brick to the light that you may not have to hang it from the stand, but if you do it comes with a steel cable attached to the brick. As welcome as that feature is, the very thin steel cable is threaded through a hole molded in the cable's stress relief, which seems destined to fail prematurely. There is an optional battery to allow the use of two V-Mounts.The light comes packed in a molded foam storage case - which seems fine for product shipping, is very protective, but also seems likely to be prone to damage from abrasion - without a hard cover over the foam, the foam seems likely to be a bit sacrificial, and I don't trust the plastic locks not to come open. I'll put a safety around the case to insure it can't open and drop the light out unexpectedly from the case.

Absolutely LOVE this light
I have man good things to say about this light. It is an excellent addition to my gear and it would be very helpful to anyone considering it.Build Quality:The 150c is built mostly of plastic, but it feels very solid and not like cheaper plastic. The Bowens mount is metal and so is the tilt locking mechanism. The knobs turn very smoothly and overall I really like the feel of this light. There aren't many lights in this price range I can think of that noticeably outshine the 150c in build quality.Controls:The lights doesn't have many control options on the physical body, but by connecting to the app you are able to control color, color temperature, magenta/green shift, and special effects. The Sidus link app is actually one of my favorite apps for lights. I much prefer it to Neewer, Feelworld, and Godox's apps.Features:It's not the easiest thing to find an RGB light this bright and in this price range. I knew as soon as Amazon announced these lights that I'd have to try them out and they do not disappoint. One thing I really love about the 150c is the smooth and precise adjustments of the colors. Some lights feel like they won't let you get the precise color you want, but the 150c doesn't share that issue. The 150c also has an upgrade of its little brother the 60x, in that it comes with a similar, but larger and more spacious case. An annoyance of the 60x is that once you take everything out of the case, it is extremely difficult to get everything back into it, but the 150c's case has enough room to allow you to place the light and cord back into the case without any trouble. I do wish the light came with the ability to use battery power via a ballast, but at least amazon offers a purchasable accessory to allow you to run this light on battery power.Overall I am very pleased with this light and it makes me want to also invest in the 300c

Incredible Studio Light
The media could not be loaded. I was sent this Aputure Araman light for review that I’ve been testing in my home studio and I’m really impressed. The all metal construction is solid and conveys confidence in the product especially since these lights can get pretty toasty. Having the Bowens mount makes this versatile and comparable to higher end lights such as ones from Godox allowing you to easily and securely attach things like a soft box.Now the reason why is the RGBWW important over just RGB lights is because regular RGB lights create white by combining the red, green, and blue parts but the resulting white just isn’t as brilliant as just a pure white LED. The LED in this light no only has a dedicated pure white LED but also a warm white that can be mixed in for varying intensity and temperature control. Basically this will give you a very brilliant white for when you need it.I normally don’t usually mention packaging but in this case the box that it comes in is actually a solid storage and carrying case.Overall this is a quality light and at nearly half the price of competitors for a 150w RGBWW light, this is a really solid option to have in the studio.

Great power output, but came defective
I gave it a 4 star only cause my unit came defective, if not It would have gotten 5 stars.I primarily used it in a small room really close to the wall, so I had to lower the power all the way down to 1%.Color intensity was very good, but the build quality is very cheap as it's mainly made out of plastic.I only got to use the item twice for a total of 40 minutes, after each use I would unplug it. When I went to use it the 3rd time It would no longer even power on regardless of what power outlet I used and could not turn it on via the app, as I no longer would see the device. Now I do use some Aputure lights I've had for years like the 120D II, 300D II, and those have been rock solid but come at a much higher cost. So keep that in mind.
