I bought this really to change one setting on my truck. Just needed to enable the brake controller.My local greedy Ford dealership wanted around $250 to make this 2 minute change.I bought this, downloaded Forescan for free.Once I figured out the software, it took me about 2 minutes. This was inexpensive and worked great.I realized all the other things I could do w it also.Great value.

Good quality product

I can't get it all to work. I don't know what to do.

I have other OBD2 readers and scanners, but with the utility application, this was indispensable for installing after-market equipment in my F-150.To use the downloadable Forscan utility, I needed their 'extended' license, which is available for limited use at no cost, but I'm not sure how expensive it gets later on, also the license registration/installation is not immediate, so expect to wait 24 hours before you can use the product. Recommend to download and register software before you get the hardware, if you need to use it right away.

Bought this item with the intent of using it on my own vehicle but had to help a friend out first. I had some difficulty getting it to connect to my pc. After about 15 minutes of wanting to throw the cord into the woods it sprung to life. I proceeded to work on my friend's car and everything is good in the world, right? Wrong! I go to work on my car and nothing happens. I try over and over again and still nothing. So now I'm thinking it's the port so I put my blutooth obd2 adapter back in the port (my pc doesn't have blutooth) and everything is working properly. I plug this cable back in and nothing. It never worked again. Save your money and avoid this one!!!

Worked great

I bought this for occasional personal use and for that it works perfectly. It does have the MS/HS switch and if I had know what I was doing I would have bought one that didn't have the switch. Other than that it works just fine, I can easily use the switch given the number of times I will put it to use.

Careful this is espesially for for trucks. i bought by mistake but work on my chevy truck.
