Sturdy, non slip
Very sturdy and does what it supposed to. Little rough wood at the bottom but it doesn’t bother me much since I don’t really see it much or my cats don't care.

Perfect in every way !
Exactly what I wanted! I’ve used this type for years, to help my small dogs safer climb up and down to the bed, couch, and window. This one is well built, quality wood and carpet, and sturdy enough for me to use as a ladder!

Cats agree, 5 paws!
These are really nice steps. Well made and sturdy. It’s heavy so, won’t be tipping over. Nothing to put together. Great height for my kitties needs. I’m seriously considering buying another.

Sturdy and as shown.
Sturdy and as shown. Have bought in the past as well.I bought 2 this time to butt up to each other to form a small platform in front of the window. The stairs sit at a perfect height. The cats can see out but stairs sit low enough that theyr'e more aesthitically pleasing than a tall cat tree in the livingroom. The only thing is, the carpet on one is slightly different than the other. If not sitting right next to each other, would be no big deal. Probably a different dye lot and not something the seller can control. All in all, good purchase.

New Cat Condos carpeted pet stairs
I've been purchasing from New Cat Condos for many years now and they used to surpass just about all other household carpeted cat furniture. These new steps they've come out with are a bit disappointing. The posts are indeed, solid wood, but the platforms themselves are only lightweight press board, not even flakeboard like the base. My 22 pound cat jumped down and broke the top step in half, then jumped on the second step and I've now had to repair 2 steps. He hasn't jumped on any of ther other 4 sets of steps, so they haven't cracked in half. Honestly, press board? That won't take 150 pounds. As I said, a disappointment coming from New Cat Condos. I still have a set of steps from several years ago, they were at least thick flakeboard, and although I will have to re-carpet them now, they are incredibly sturdy. If they're going to advertise as solid wood, they should differentiate between the base being flakeboard and the steps bring cheap and weak pressboard. All in all, if you have regular, 10-11 pound cats, the only thing you'll have to fix is the carpeting-if you have aggressive scratchers. We have 20+ rescue cats and they utilize 5 sets of these steps throughout the house. My older and more feeble cats get the largest benefit from them. They have a good 6" of available space on the first and second steps, and a full step at the top, the approximately 20" is the perfect height to get onto a high bed, counter or look out a window. We have a very high, four poster bed, with the steps, the cats have about a 16" jump from the top step to get onto the bed. Completely accessible, even for older or slightly disabled cats.I like these steps, or I wouldn't have gotten so many. It's just sad they had to cheap out on the actual steps.February 26, 2023-just an update...I had to repair the bottom step of the steps I previously had to repair the other 2 steps-the bottom step almost never gets any use at all, yet when I checked it a few days ago, when I put my hand on it and pressed down, the press board under the carpeting was completely halved. The repaired steps will now hold 300 pounds! With just some wood supporting the carpeted, weak pressboard. I know I've mentioned this, but I really am disappointed that this company decided to change out their dependable steps having flakeboard steps with very weak and unreliable press board. You don't have to be a karate champion to take your foot and land a good stomp on a step to crack it in half-if a 20 pound cat can...
