Fantastic snack!
I love this alternative to popcorn! It’s the next best thing and has a satisfying crunch and saltiness that hits the spot for a popcorn craving. It’s a new favorite!

When popped it is tiny and only about 50% of it popped
The company is fine. The sorghum is a joke when popped. The grains are tiny and about 50% popped. It tastes like popcorn but I had to eat it with a spoon. The sorghum seeds were fresh. Again, the company is fine and the sorghum was fresh but popping it is a joke.

Tastes great! Learn from my mistakes..
My Son has an allergy to corn and it’s so hard for the rest of the family to eat popcorn when he can’t have any. We tried to find something else for him to eat instead but he always had a disappointed look, we knew he wanted our popcorn! Now we can both be happy! I have tried popping sorghum in the past and haven’t been too impressed. It usually has a very low pop rate and tends to burn quickly. This brand was recommended on a low- histamine website, so I thought I’d give it another try. I scanned the QR code that came on the back of the package for tips and learned a few tricks that really helped me get a better pop rate. The instructional videos in the link tell you how to rehydrate the sorghum and why. After I tried this trick and cooked it on the stove top the way the video demonstrated I got a similar success rate of popped kernels. Hooray! My son is very happy with his “popcorn” and even though we save it just for him, we think it tastes great too! It’s a bonus to know it’s full of fiber, low lectin, and low histamine. I don’t recommend trying to make bigger batches in a stir-crazy type popper, or the whirly-pop. Just use a normal saucepan with a glass lid and make small batches. This along with the rehydration was the key to our success.

delicious
I make this every single day. It's tricky to make though. Add a thin layer of olive, avocado or coconut oil to the bottom of a 1 gallon steel pan. When the oil starts to smoke, add 1/3 cup of sorghum , stir it with a whisk until it starts to pop and quickly put a lid on it or it will be all over your stove. Turn the flame down a little and shake the pan on and off until you can't hear the sorghum popping. Be careful not to wait too long after that or the sorghum will start to burn. Remove from flame and pour sorghum into a bowl before the kernels burn. If you pop about 90% of the sorghum, then you've done a good job. It may take a few tries but once you get it you'll love your sorghum. Yum! I'm eating it right now as I write this.

Excited to Pop my own!
I enjoy the process of popping our own delicious healthy snack. I’ve had their packaged popped before and it was great! I’m still getting the hang of how to set the heat and get a better yield, but the kernels I’m getting taste great!

Never popped during multiple attempts
I was excited about trying this product as an alternative to popcorn, but after several attempts and following the directions exactly on the YouTube video from this company, nothing actually popped and the product burned.

Good Alternative for Popcorn
I was not sure about this product but thought I would give it a try. I am not able to digest corn very well and missed having popcorn. So I thought I would give Popped Sorghum a try. The directions on the package give multiple ways to cook. First I tried stove top and this did not work for me as the majority of the sorghum did not pop. The directions will tell you the percentage that will likely pop but the stove top was too little and the rest burned. I moved to the paper bag in the microwave with no oil and at 3 mins (times will vary) over 80% popped and the rest opened enough to eat - so yummy! Toppings are a personal preference but be aware that the individually popped sorghum are very very small compared to popcorn. If you are thinking about pouring a liquid topping I advise a shaker style topping instead unless you want to make golf ball size popping balls. I purchased the "Better than Popcorn!" Waste of my time
Tried all popping variations as suggested and was only able to pop about 5% of total volume. Might be old inventory
