5 x Strong Finger Pointing Trowel Set 6 8 10 12 14 mm Flat Spring Carbon Steel Tuck with Wooden Handle (5FTCH)

Recently did a lime mortar pointing course and have been working my way around the garden wall, removing the damage done by ivy, buddleia and that bodger's curse, cement render. Originally had just a single tuck pointer, but there were times when a wider or narrower face would have been useful. This set provides a range from narrow to wide, giving greater choice when pointing. Whilst they may not stand up as 'forever' tools, they seem competently put together with a strong enough weld, wooden handles that look quite smart, and on the three or four jobs I've used them for since buying a month ago I've found them up to the task. My only minor criticism at this point is that I'd have happily paid a few quid more if they'd come in a pouch or bag of some sort, to keep them altogether, as I imagine at some point one will go walkabouts....

Good to have several sizes. Good value considering the price.

I do a lot of pointing jobsThese work a treat from very thin laid brick courses to the 10mm and 12mm courses. They are strong don't flex and can take some stuck when pushing the mortar into the brickwork.Sturdy wood handles and feels comfortable in your hands. Great for the price and you get 5 not just 1

These pointing trowels are solid and easily do the job they are intended to do. Highly recommended.

Not too expensive and does the job they were intended for.Store dry for longer life.

I purchased this set of 5 strong finger pointing trowels expecting a durable and reliable selection for brickwork and repointing jobs. Sadly, the quality was shockingly poor — one of the trowels snapped the very first time I used it.The metal is described as "flat spring carbon steel", but it feels far too thin and brittle for any proper masonry work. I was only applying light pressure when the 10mm trowel snapped clean near the handle. It’s clear the material isn’t up to the task, and I doubt the rest of the set will last any longer.The wooden handles also feel cheaply made and poorly finished. They’re not very comfortable to hold, and the fitting between the blade and the handle feels loose, making the tools feel unreliable even before use.I expected better for a product advertised as “strong”. These may look the part, but they’re definitely not built for real work. If you’re looking for a dependable set of pointing trowels, I’d strongly recommend spending a bit more for something properly made.Overall, this set was a waste of money — flimsy, unreliable, and simply not fit for purpose.
