Great price. Great lock. Great mount.
This is a great lock. I love the way this allows you to mount the lock flush. Which makes for a clean installation.Others who have reported poor holding force obviously do not understand how to use mag locks. The strike plate needs to float so that the magnet can grab it. If the strike is mounted hard and flush if there are any imperfections in the magnet and the strike plate the bond will be weak. Also don't forget to install a diode so that the collapsing magnet force will not ruin your electronics.

not stainless steel
bought this for a project (not to hold a door closed), but the holding force is not that great. the magnet MUST be perfectly flat to the metal surface and metal thickness matters. thats why they enclose a big block for the magnet to attract to. anyway....the magnet housing is aluminum, not stainless steel. i planned to weld to it, but you cant weld to aluminum. it will work anyway for my application, but for holding a door is a stretch. you will have to spend more money and go a lot bigger. hope this helps someone.
