Who named this game and WHY? I redub it Fickle-Ball
My husband and I swore we'd NEVER try pickleball. The name alone sounds ridiculous! We're tennis players – or at least we were back in the day when we forced our kids to learn (ha!). So, imagine our surprise when our sneaky adult children somehow got us onto a pickleball court. We thought we were going to play tennis! We even went back and reviewed every conversation leading up to it, and honestly, they never actually said anything dishonest. We just assumed, and those little turkeys let us!But here's the thing: we ended up having a blast! Who knew?! I don't know who has more fun, us, or them laughing at us as we try this ridiculously named game. Either way, there is a TON of laughing at these events! You see, I was recently given this Franklin Sports Aurora, Endeavor + Glide Padel Racket to try out and give my honest opinion. I take my reviewing seriously, so I always make sure to use a product several times in different situations before writing anything. That way, I can give you all the most complete and helpful information possible. So, I've been using this racket for a few weeks now, and here are my thoughts: It's surprisingly lightweight, which is perfect since I'm not as young as I used to be and don't have the same swing speed. But don't let that fool you, it still has plenty of power. The foam core gives it a nice, soft feel, which is much easier on my joints. I'm definitely still learning the ropes with what I prefer to call fickle ball, but this racket has made a difference for sure! And you know what? My husband is totally jealous! THAT is just kind of a fun bonus. He's still using his old racket, and let's just say it's not quite as nice as mine. He's the big shot athlete though - or at least he was in College - big football man. And he can still hold his own in Boxing and running, and of course his position as the lead singer in his 80's hair band where there is all that head banging...(unlike me, who despite a youth as a gymnast, is now quite the clutz – I guess the kids soaked all the talent out of me!). Hwy! - That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. So, any advantage I can get is a win! Maybe I'll get him one for Christmas... or maybe not. 😉Seriously though, this Franklin Sports racket is a great choice for anyone starting out, especially if you're used to a tennis racket. It's light, comfortable, and surprisingly powerful. If you find yourself getting tricked onto a pickleball court by your kids (or maybe you just want to try something new - are you crazy?), give this racket a shot. We're having a blast (or someone is because I swear there is a ton of laughing going on, it can't all be in my head!), and this racket is definitely helping me along the way.

love carbon fiber
I am a casual racket sport player from tennis, to pickleball, to pop tennis. I am no expert, but I do know what I like. And to me after all these years on planet earth is one bit of wisdom I have amassed, that what's good for me may not be good for you. So a pop tennis racket is an individual thing just like anything else involving sports equipment. A cheap racket may be played with a virtuoso style by one player while a pricey racket may make that same player look ordinary. So all I can tell you is what I like about this paddle, as well as what I did not like. To start with I loved the carbon fiber body, it is shiny, looks high quality, and seems durable. I like the core, drilled holes, open V bottom as well all helping with a smooth swing with little impact feel. The handle is well done, with a strap, and provides a good amount of comfort. It is thick and a little heavy, but does feel balanced in the hand. I do wish it was a touch lighter, but felt like I could achieve good power shots with a big sweet spot. So my only complaint is I wish it was a tiny bit lighter for a more connected feel to my arm. Otherwise, I love the materials, quality, and design.

Lightweight, fast, quality racket
This racket feels balanced to hold. The foam core gives it a robust but lightweight feel, which is great for players who like having a lot of control and quick reactions. The drawback is a little bit less power than a heavier racket, but the increased speed is very nice. My wife doesn't have a ton of upper body strength, and she loves this racket for these reasons. The foam core also reduces the risk of injuries from impact. My wife is an avid tennis player, and has definitely developed tennis elbow at times from the continuous impact. The foam on this racket really helps to absorb some of that, and reduce pounding on your joints, since the racket takes that impact instead of your body.

High Quality Paddle
To be frank, I thought this paddle was for racketball, and that pop tennis and padel ball were just other names for it, as I had no idea that sport even existed. When I received it, it was a bit larger and heavier than I expected, so then I researched those two terms and found out about the sport. I didn't have the right ball for it, so I tried the mini tennis ball we have for our doggos, and it worked great. The quality of the paddle is very high, and the heft is part of the equation. Its made of high density foam, but it doesn't feel like foam when you make contact with the ball. It's very solid. I would put the weight at around 60% of a full-sized, professional grade tennis racket, and much heavier than a racketball paddle. Now that I know about this sport, I'm very interested and excited to try it out, since I can play it at any tennis court. And since it uses the smaller portion of the tennis court, it's less running for my old-man legs, which is the other reason I'm interested in it. And this paddle is a excellent way to play it.
