This is a great choice for parallels that don’t cost a fortune, they are well made and the size label etched into each bar is a nice feature. Mine arrived with each pair individually wrapped in oil paper and there was no damage to them or the box, which is neatly dovetailed and fairly sturdy, except for the dinky brass hinges. For a tool set that is going to stay in a drawer until needed, this is fine with me. Some buyers of different sets complain of “knife sharp” edges. That is to be expected for these, which have precision ground surfaces. Mine are a little sharp, but not so sharp that they need to be dressed with a stone. Just handle them carefully and keep them well oiled after using, to prevent rust. They are RAW tool steel. All of my pairs except one were perfectly straight on the long sides, the one pair that wasn’t has a very slight curve, which is barely noticeable. I think this is a good buy. JD Spokane WA
