Gold Label Dubbin Softens

Absolutely excellent. Only needed a small amount to cover the entirety of two brand new leather shoes, one casual the other full leather sole Loakes Royal Brogues, with a thick film of the dubbin-which went on like an oily cream. The leather was rock solid but after only 2 hours the heels and uppers became noticeably softer. I then went on to treat a full length black leather coat and two medium length black leathers, one a classic Valentino, by totally covering all the leather inside and out in a reasonably thick coating. All that and I have only used less than 5% of the tub. It really is very penetrative and a flat teaspoon of the dubbin will coat a pair of leather shoes easily. It makes the leather completely waterproof and after a few days soaking in I advise you buff the excess off with a soft cloth and let the coats dry off before putting them in the wardrobe. Same with the shoes but a day later coat the shoes with normal good quality shoe polish and let them dry for two hours then polish them with a brush and buff those with a soft cloth and the result is astounding. You can see the coat and shoe leathers look nourished, beautifully smoothed and rejuvenated. The shoes polish up beautifully and the Loakes look every bit as stunning as they ought being hand made full leather shoes. A solid 5 stars all round and I give this dubbin my highest recommendation. And regarding coverage it will easily last me 10 years at this pace as you only need to use it every 3 months or after very hot or wet weather-and sparingly after the first treatment.

I love how good Dubbin is. I use it specifically for my Lowa boots for my weekly mountain trek in our Mourne mountains. One of the other reviewers made a comment that he has to repeat the procedure to whatever he was wanting to waterproof. The fact is, it is normal to clean, polish and waterproof boots after a muddy trek. What is wrong with that? Takes five minutes and what a difference it makes. The water rolls off on the next trek. But I don't expect it to make my boots mud proof :). In any event this is a great product and does want it says on the side. I have been using this weekly since December (apart for the weeks of lock down) and it is lasting incredible well.

I've used product before works well. Very water resistant and work boots last longer. And they've had to put up with a lot of water lately.

I have several pairs of military boots, and keeping them in shape for whenever they are needed is paramount. I used to use all manner of products, but this stuff has been a game-changer.Here's what I do to apply the dubbin (after cleaning dirt and debris away using a brush and water)...1. Dry the boot. Take a brush, and dab a healthy amount of the dubbin onto the bristles.2. Brush in the dubbin to the surface of the boot, paying particular attention to every nook, cranny, seam, fold & zip.3. Take a heat gun (or the wifes hairdryer - hehe), and melt the dubbin onto the boot. This gets the dubbin into every crevice. It turns the product glassy.4. Once melted, leave it for 4 hours or more - (overnight even)5. Take a dry brush, and brush the boot.6. If there is any surplus dubbin on the boot, buff it off with a cloth rag.That's it. That's what I do. Simple as it gets really. The important bit is to leave the dubbin to soak into the boot before buffing it off. And there we have nice clean, softened, comfortable, shiny boots, boots that are a dream to wear, and even dreamier to clean down after a hard day getting them muddy & boggy again...

I use the dubbin on mt harley davidson heritage softail leather luggage and it works fantastically, rejuvenating the leather ,making it soft and supple and making it more water resistant.

This product really does do what it says. It protects and ensures the leather will be waterproof. I use it weekly on my work boots which i wear for 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. It softens and protects them, also makes them look all shiney. Its easy to use, dont need to heat it up and soaks in nicely. Buff off afterwards and there you go, thats it, perect. In conclusion it is a brilliant product which i highly recommend. Thanks
