Source Naturals Mega Strength Beta Sitosterol 375mg - 60 Tablets

Being a man of a certain age, I was being troubled by the frequent trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I didn't like the side effects of the prescription my doctor gave me, so he then suggested Beta-Sitosterol. I take it as directed (3x' a day) and it works!! ZERO trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night, zero side effects!

My first thought about this Source Natural's product was to note that they say nothing about its use to alleviate prostate problems, insteading focusing on cholesterol-lowering abilities. Since I understood the main use of beta sitosterol to be for prostate problems, I thought that, since they don't mention it, there must be something different about this product, that it's unlike those "beta-prostate" kind of things you hear about on the radio so much. But looking at the label, and comparing it with others, I don't think that's the case.Look, I haven't been taking this nearly long enough to say whether it's helping. But I can say this: It seems to have more beta-sitosterol than two other products I also bought. For instance, Beta Sitosterol 425 Mg Mega Strength - 90 Caps By Amermed says it has 425 mg. But on the back it says that that's "including Campesterol and Stigmasterol." Well, the Source Naturals has 375 mg of Beta sitosterol PLUS 187 mg Campesterol PLUS 131 mg Stigmasterol - for a total of 693 mg!Another product I have, Prostate Miracle Is a Natural, Highly Effective Treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Prostatitis - Made in the USA, has 300 mg of "Beta-Sitosterol Complex." Again compared with 693 in the Source Naturals product. The Prostate Miracle does say it's vegetarian and is made in the USA.I have no way to know whether there are different qualities of Beta Sitosterol. But quantitatively, this product seems more potent than at least those two others, and is significantly cheaper to boot.

Started taking this Pytosterol to help with hearing from a medical article I read. Only complaint I have is that this is one HUGE pill. I is really hard to try and wash down. I had to cut it into three pieces and it is still a little problem due to the rough edges. Rounded off the edges on pills and this helped. To early to tell if the pill will really help with hearing a little clearer.

I vouch for these Source Naturals Mega Strength Beta Sitosterol supplements. I have been using them for a while without adverse effects. As with any supplement, it is difficult to tell whether it works. Regardless, I highly recommend this supplement for its quality, quantity, and price.

The bottle I received this time looks different from the one shown in the ad photo. I’ve purchased this product before, and it matched the ad perfectly. However, this time it came with a different design. Did they change the product layout recently?

Having tried a prescription pharmaceutical remedy for BPH (a benign swelling of the prostate) that caused unacceptable side effects and showed no sign of remedying the problem (the MD said it might take six months or a year), I decided to discontinue it and try Beta Sitosterol, an herbal remedy most often used to lower cholesterol but which is also showing considerable success in treating BPH (without annoying side effects). After taking it for almost a month, the side effects that resulted from the previous medication have gone away and I think I'm beginning to already see some slight improvement in my BPH. It's too early to render a final judgment but, based on what's in the literature, I am confident that it will work as promised. Time, of course, will tell but I'm already much happier with it than the previous Rx medication. With 375 mg. of beta sitosterol in each capsule, this product contains much more than many other products on the market; I expect the larger dose to produce good results more quickly than might occur with smaller doses. For anyone with BPH, it's definitely worth a try.

The pill is too big and hard to swallow

I've been taking this for over a year now to supplement the saw palmetto I take. I'm in my 60s but still active. I take a lot of long walks and still go hiking on occasion. Although its never a problem finding an accommodating bush in the wilderness, when forced to relieve oneself along the coast here where I like to walk and quite populated, it can be hard to find a place of privacy. Some time ago I went on a regimen of saw palmetto and added this some time later after reading some info about it helping a lot with keeping your urges more under control. Well its been some now since I started this and must say it, together with a good saw palmetto complex, this has been terrific for me. I can remember some walks where I was forced to run into restaurants or take a chance on the side of the road which was obviously not an ideal solution. Since taking this and saw palmetto I can't remember the last time I had to interrupt one of my long walks, or get up in the middle of the night more than once. Usually I sleep all the way through till morning with this stuff and the palmetto. If you have problems that keep you more familiar with the bathroom than you are comfortable with, (especially at night), I highly recommend this and a saw palmetto complex for your regimen as well. Just one tablet a day works great for me and I buy it regularly... Highly Recommended.. : )
