Brilliant
Excellent distortion pedal for the price. I have a ton of pedals some bought and some built from kits and some from schematics. I was pricing parts for a build for a basic distortion with boost (coming in around £35 with kits in the region of £50-60). When I saw this for £25 seemed worth a punt. It suits my needs perfectly.Solid aluminium painted enclosure, decent sized knobs smooth pots and seems solidly built. The EQ section is possibly the best I have encountered on a pedal, very responsive giving a huge range of tones with only bass, mid and treble. There is an progressive sweep from minimum to maximum distortion not just in the last quarter of the control. The boost offers bit of edge to cut through the bass and drums when recording in a DAW( it only functions when distortion is on however). The overall tone is quite bright maybe even tinny or thin sounding but easily offset with the equalisation. I managed to dial in a convincing Muse Hysteria tone on my epiphone lp studio within about twenty minutes of tweaking. This puts to shame the last couple of kits I have bought from a major UK kit supplier and I have to say will probably be more useful and fun than my big muff delux which cost over six times the price - I know fuzz is diffrent from distortion but the sheer range of sonic possibilities offered makes it more versatile in my opinion. This is my second Caline pedal recently neither have dissapointed.

Good for the money
I bought this to experiment building a cheap board to plug direct to desk for open mics etc. It is well built. Chunky, weighty and knobs all feel solid. You can get some decent tones out of it through a decent amp. Sure there are better pedals out there but you will struggle to find one at this price point. The same can’t be said by running direct to the desk. Sounds very boxy and couldn’t really eq it very well. Still a good little pedal for the money. Great for a novice or building your first pedal board but not for the experienced tone chaser

Great RAT like distortion.
Just got this pedal.and tried out played into a Caline British Amp pedal (Marshall Sim). Sounds awesome. Great distortion with 3 band EQ. I had a Boss DS1 (who hasnt). and never happy with it's fizzy sound. This blows the DS1 out of the water. The boost pedal.is an added bonus for lead, adding more high. This is like a Rat turbo but with more EQ control. Seriously if looking for a good cheap.distortion you can't go wrong.

Absolutely superb metal / post-rock pedal
The tone on this pedal is just superb and especially given how much it costs! It's a high distortion pedal with a powerful EQ section. It fits in well next to my more boutique-style pedals.

Distortion sounds good through the clean channels
Distortion sounds good through the clean channels, but boost only works with distortion switched on,so you can't boost a clean channel, and boost sounds dreadful, really tinny sound.Pedal is useless on any overdriven channels as it just gets loads of feedback.I will qualify this review as i am not a techie and its very possible i'm doing something wrong.

For the price incredible
A really versatile pedal for heavy tones. The boost works great for leads. Much better than much more expensive pedals I have owned.

Value for money.
Good harsh distortion. Does affect other pedals in the chain though - my set up is not textbook with the tantrum at the start and an EHX big muff at the other end with the pedals between all influenced by the signal from the tantrum . For example, the muff likes the delay but the tantrum washes it out (a side effect of the cheaper pedals like the tantrum and some Donner products but nothing that cannot be overcome).
