Very Very Pleased/Be Patient!
This is an amazing product and I am so happy to give a 5 star review of this pond bomb..:- In the Spring some ducks came to our pond (first time in three years) and churned up the bottom silt and decaying organic matter causing the water to become like black tea! (I scooped out a glass of water to examine it).. I spent several days shooing the ducks away.. They are lovely to look at but cause a lot of mess and damage in a small pond and also two of the baby fish died as their scales had been damaged.. I know the river and canal is not far from us so I knew the ducks would have better feeding areas there..But even more alarming was the fact that my 30+ assorted size goldfish then hid well away and wouldn't come out to feed for weeks and weeks on end. At first I thought they were just spooked by the ducks disturbing their habitat, but after seeing the horrible brown coloured water I realised they were shutting themselves down naturally to protect themselves from the ammonia and nitrates etc..Our pond was inherited by us when we moved into our rented house. It is well established, probably decades old.. It looks as though there may have been a pump and a waterfall but these had long ago stopped working, and there is no longer an electricity source to the pond.. There is a lot of decaying matter at the bottom which I do not clean out but prefer to leave the natural ecology of the pond to do its thing and the fact that we have an abundance of wildlife in and around it , I prefer to leave well alone. Usually the pond is a bit green from the suspended algae but apparently this is not harmful to the Fish, frogs, newts etc.. (also I read that baby fish feed on it)..I also read that it's a good idea to aerate the water, which has a lot of ammonia and nitrates in it, if it has turned brown.. I bought two solar fountains and underwater stones to oxygenate the water.. I always give things a good few weeks to see if there are any improvements.. There was no difference in the water clarity but these have added nice features to the pond!.. The water was still dark brown and murky and the fish were still hibernating even though it was late Spring by now..I read the reviews and product information about the bacteria in these bombs that break down the ammonia etc..I thought I'd give them a try.. I put one bomb in around the 3rd week of May..After a few weeks my fish gradually started to appear again and looked swimmingly alert and ready to feed again...I could see the dozen large fish and a couple of the babies.. I was so pleased to see them re-emerge.. The visibility was getting better too.. So I knew something really good was happening.. I put another bomb in a couple of weeks ago.. Now all the fish including 10-12 babies are perky and healthy, feeding and enjoying life again..Yesterday I did the water glass test and the water is no longer brown at all!.. I am so pleased. There is just a slight green tinge.. I occasionally use an anti-algae product but I don't want the water to look absolutely clear as I prefer it to look natural.. I always use a water conditioner if I'm topping up the pond with tap water in the summer to remove chlorine etc.. Also this year I have let the lilly pads cover 2/3rds at least of the pond as it is in the sun all day (well when the British summer permits!) and this also helps to discourage suspended algae..All I would say is be very patient.. Give these things a good few weeks to get going and you will see good results. Also lastly but most importantly many many thanks to Evolution Aqua Pure for creating this brilliant product.. I would highly recommend this to all pond owners.

I was going to wait for VE Day....Bomb gone!
The media could not be loaded. The single ball of stuff in a container of gel stuff is simply added to pond filter. And that is exactly what I have done, the day before VE Day.Monitoring of the clarity of the water over the coming days and couple of weeks. I currently can say I can not see the bottom of the pond, although uv and filter are in working order.Update to follow: watch this space.13thMay2020: the pond filters , second stage have required cleaning twice in the last week. The green sludge that builds up within the filters causes an increase in the water level indicating two things. Firstly , a lot more of the green stuff is being trapped and that is a good thing. Secondly , the filters are working fine. Back flushing until reasonably clean, not fully clean, helps trap the next lot of green gunk, there’s a lot of it.Is the water clarity improving is still something I still can not answer. More to follow....One day on and the weather has shone a new light on the pond clarity question. I can definitely say the pond is clearing as fish are better defined as they approach the surface for food. This stuff looks like it is working in conjunction with filters and the cleaning of them.I’ll give to the weekend before posting a second video.Added a couple of photos, one of the green gunge that the filters are now trapping and a slightly more distant view of the improvement in water clarity. I do suspect this could take a few weeks as filters are reactivated and pond water is clearly bogging. It just needs time.....6thJune2020: as the clarity has improved, I can now see the bigger problem. The bottom of the pond is choked with debris, mainly oak leaves , twigs and other bits of the trees along with sludge. How I know this is because I dredged it today. The manufactured net broke early in the dredging. Made a far more sturdy net out of an old metal hooped badminton racket and a washing net bag. I now have a builders 1metre cube bag about two thirds full of crud. Will need to dry the bags contents before I can even consider moving it.Hopefully this will also go someway to improving the pond water quality and clarity.20thJune2020: I have added a short video to show the water clarity, it is continuing to improve. I am having to desludge the fine filters once a day as the fine particulate matter which is visible in the video gets trapped in them. What is not clear in the video, is the depth of view, which is much better.I have also ordered replacement filters as the current ones are starting to tear and getting near to end of life.April 2021: pond clarity continues to be great, can see down to bottom of pond and it is in need of dredging out of leaves and twigs. Looking good.
