Hands down the best nonstick pan ever
I'm almost 50, love to cook and have had probably 30 nonstick pans in my life. I have a ceramic cooktop and know from experience that aluminum nonstick pans make marks on the surface that cannot be removed (its literally aluminum). That said only stainless exteriored pans will do now and that trims the field. Used to go out to the local shops and find good quality name aluminum clad nonstick pans for cheap... rinse repeat.Had bought some decent looking stainless nonstick Cuisinarts over a year ago and the largest one was wearing poorly. I never crank them up to high, always hand wash (don't put them in the dishwasher ever) and never use anything that'd scratch them but they simply weren't very good so needed to replace. I had located some nice looking pans from Williams-Sonoma and was getting ready to pull the trigger. We decided to go out to a local shop just to check the quality got there and was really impressed with what was on show display from Williams-Sonoma brand that I assumed was what I had lined up to purchase. Almost had made my mind up and then realized that they were the Hestan version which very expensive. Almost bought them anyway figuring they were so good wuality... why not. Went home and decided to resume the search figuring 250 for a pan that I definitely would have to replace was stupid. Looked around found these from Scan Pan. They make several types and there seem to be very few reviews out there for the maitre D but I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. I realize I've only had these for a little while, but they are literally the best quality pan I have ever laid hands on, including the Hestan ones I saw at William Sonoma that were twice as much. The coating is such high quality. I'm sure it will hold up well. Also, the exterior is a slick stainless steel that will not stain the way that many of other stainless steel pans that have a matte finish to them will. I actually bought a Made in 12-in since scan pan doesn't make that size. Again, I can't speak to longevity yet but got the Made in a few days ago and it doesn't look to be as good a pan. The only negative reviews I've read were that they were really heavy, I mean yeah that's true, but honestly that's not a negative. It's like saying a high end knife is too sharp, weight translates to quality in a pan in my estimation. I can't say enough for the quality of the surface on these pans as well as just aesthetics alone. They are show pieces. These also are IMO more of a French style in that there's less gradual curve from the bottom to the side... I prefer that anyway so win win. Extremely happy with this purchase.Update Nov 24':These pans are still going strong, no signs of wear. The Made In pan died last week... coating flecking off. We used the made in half as often as the Scan Pan.

very nice. so far so good.
I've had a Scanpan damascus knife since 2003 so I thought I'd give their pans a try: nice heft, very slippery, and responsive on induction. Wish this line had a small half-height egg pan.

Highly recommend
Heavy, heats evenly, dishwasher safe, oven safe! Feels durable, but we all know non stick won’t beat stainless steel

They really are good
I never see scanpans reviewed. They heat evenly like no others, hold heat, and clean quickly with little effort. I truly believe that they are the best on the market.

Fails in less than 1.5 years
This is now the second set of Scanpans we have ordered and used. They work great for a bit, but then they just start to fail, no matter how much you adhere to their cleaning regimen. It is what it is. I'm now moving on to just buy cheap pans and expect them to fail with frequency.

how did I cook without these??
Perfect pans. Time will tell whether they last.Nothing sticks - the food just slides off, no scratches. Don't even have to use a dish washer now as a quick simple rinse removes the tiny pieces that sometimes remain!
