How do you sharpen the blades?

Don't know for sure. You can take the blades off and hand sharpen. Perhaps Makita may sharpen it?

Why am i having a hard time locating the hedge trimmer attachment (in the us)? internationally, it appears to be viably available.

I had a really hard time finding this part . It took me forever but here it is Makita 198408-1

Does the BL1041B battery fits this shear?

My battery (I bought locally) is a standard Makita 18V Battery 4.0 Amp: BL1840B from a local store. So your battery should fit fine. It will accept a range of Makita batteries. Probably all.

Can it cut emerald zoysia
