My 8 year old became obsessed with jumproping after the gym class had their jump roping unit! We got him this for his birthday and he jump roped for fun every time he went outside. So cool how it lights up with a simple push of a button. Nicely made for the price. Batteries were easy to install. The only thing that would make it better would be if it turned off by itself, because he doesn't always remember to turn it off when done using it. But, I love that he is motivated to be active and use his jump rope outside! Seems quite durable and has nice, bright colors.

Looks very cute and durable. Came with directions and a mini screwdriver for battery installation. Batteries were not included.

The jump ropes were lots of fun. But one of then broke easily

Jump rope looks cool when lit up. Not the best quality but it's good enough for a 6yr to learn on. It has a thick cord with some crappy plastic handles. Which will probably break quickly. Requires 2 AAA batteries but a mini screwdriver is included in the box.

This was great for about an hour. The light quit working, which was disappointing. Then the handle broke and had to be ducktaped. Not at all what I expected. Now my Granddaughters are disappointed. Will look elsewhere.

The light up jump rope was neat while it lasted, but my daughter got it to do a talent show routine with a friend - we bought it less then 2 weeks before the event but it didn't last long enough to make it to the performance. The light up feature stopped working after about a week. I don't think my daughter was super careful with the jump rope, but she also wasn't rough with it outside of normal jump rope usage (she used it daily). Maybe if your child is careful enough to set it down like you would set an egg on the counter you'll have better luck then us! My daughter said she dropped it from a few inches off the ground each time she set it down and thinks that's what caused the lights to break ( there is a piece in the handle of the jump rope that broke loose), but I think general usage caused the wiring to move around as well and contributes to the breakage. Definitely a poor design for a toy that's meant to be whacked against the ground over and over and over.
