I recently tried the Digital Standard Abacus, and it's been an excellent tool for improving mental math skills. Very useful and easy to use for kids.

I wanted a simple abracus, in part for show, but also to use to learn a bit. This nice looking plastic abracus is so smooth that the markers don't stay in place, but slide with even the slightest movement. You can't calculate with this device, though it looks nice enough on the shelf.

Simple design, and molded perfectly. Movement doesn't stick anywhere, so this allows you to count fast.

not bad, it just they can stick together when I move up and down.

I would give it a 1 star for our personal use.... it is WAY too small.However; it is sturdy and well built... So I don't want to hurt the overall rating (which is why I gave it 5) If that's what you're looking for, it's fine. But when I say small, I mean VERY small. (my 4 year old was having a hard time separating the beads.)

If you're looking for a good simple abacus, this is one worth looking at. It's well made, not too big, not too small, and easy to use.

I will teach my granddaughter how to use it. Then she can teach me.
