UPDATED....XTool is amazing! .
UPDATE....Yvette reached out to me and offered a very kind solution to prevent us returning it. Which is awesome because this unit is amazing!!! We have no choice but to use in building at this time, so windows open, the Xtool Air purifier and another air purifier in the room are necessary!I do mostly tumblers...plus some wood projects. There is little to no smell when doing tumblers! The pre filter gets dirty quickly, but Yvette educated me that it is washable (just did in sink similar to vacuum filter). At the end of the day...We have a D1 20W Pro, the Xtool Air Purifier and will be purchasing more Xtool products in the near future!! Will soon be getting the F1 and the air purifier for that as well!We have the unit in a well ventilated space in the house and when it's nice enough outside we can open windows it's right next to and the door. However when it's 10 degrees outside, we want to keep the heat inside.

it's expensive to operate but it does suck in a good way.
the office I'm using this in has no way of venting outside. if you're in the same situation use this filter for a S1 or M1 because it does really filter the smoke. When cutting wood the room does develop a smell but it's not too bad. It doesn't automatically shut off like the air assist it would be nice if they offered that feature. One pre-filter lasted about 4 hours and the main filters I'm assuming will get me about 8-9 hours with heavy wood cutting and twice that with engraving alone

Works ok but there are better options
I purchased this air purifier along with my M1 laser. The purifier is easy to assemble and install. It works great at first, but the pre-filter gets filled up within a week or two of use. You cannot buy just the pre-filter, you must buy the entire replacement filter kit. These are far too expensive for what they are.If you have the capability to vent outside in any way, shape or form, plan to do that instead. I do still have to run a Corsi Rosenthal fan filter in the room where I’m running the laser, in addition to the purifier, because the room does still smell somewhat like smoke. It’s not an unpleasant smell, if you’re used to having a fireplace. I don’t have a fireplace. It would have been nice if xTool had set these up with a standard filter size instead of something proprietary.Edit: The seller reached out to me and provided a replacement filter to increase my review to 5 stars. The seller really is good at working with customers to make things right. I want to make it very clear - the purifier works great, but it's just very expensive to maintain.

Works as expected
Works as described, but the filters are expensive and need replaced too often. The prefilled can be washed, but for the price of the air purifier and required filters makes it too expensive for this hobbiest.

Gets the job done
Gets the job done. Allows you to do this indoors. I still had another tube go out the window and just to be clear, you still will smell whatever residue remains after you process wood due to what is happening in the machine/what is cut in the machine. This does not eliminate the need to clean inside the machine (the laser area) after it cuts/engraves.

Expensive
It definitely gets rid of the smoke but not the smell of acrylic fumes. The biggest downfall IMHO is the fact that xTool decides to not sell the pre-filters separately, which are a requirement. The only way to get one is to buy the entire filter replacement which comes with two pre-filters. When my first pre-filter was completely plugged up due to lack of air flow, I replaced the pre-filter, and the rest of the filter was barely dirty. And the unit had air flow once again. At $110 per two pre-filters, that works out to $55.00 per pre-filter because the rest of the filter doesn't need to be replaced. Other manufacturers sell their pre-filters for a minimum amount, but xTool decided to take advantage of the consumer by making them pay for something that's not needed every time.

Had an issue with the first filter
The first filter i received stopped working after the first use and just let fumes through, Xtools support worked with me to resolve this and it has been working decent since then. this is a good addon to the s1 and is very quiet for the filter power. It’s expensive but works the best out of others i’ve compared it to. Get it in a bundle with the engraver or other accessories for the best value!

Works great
I don't have it ventilated to the outdoors, but it knocks down a major portion of the smoke (almost 100%)
