Coghlan's Mosquito Coil Holder

I've had a couple of these holders in the past. They work great. The coil burns evenly and keeps the ashes inside so when you're ready to dump them you just turn the top and bottom on opposite directions and turn both sides over the trash to empty it. I use this in my porch, right outside my tent when camping or wherever I might be staying in one place for a while. Great product for the mosquito coil (purchased separately).

yes. safety measure. can be hung safely to deck or post. works well to excellent. burns completely and smoothly. obviously Coghlan coils, since very easily broken when getting them separated, can fit burning pieces of any size in the smoker holder. and produces nice smoke (dont breathe it though - as there are some toxicities to the coils smoke.) it did not break (so that is better point than the terra cotta version. yes, I can tap it against deck or tree and get residual ash out of the well. durability very good, even of the fire retarded plastic that must really be glass holding the burning coil in. takes care of the safety issues as I no longer desire any unexposed flames or burning material on or near the deck. the holder seems to be ok with weather, and I have not had any issues with wind gusts taking things to higher anxiety levels. pros : well constructed, simple, basic, good holder.cons: is a learning experience as the fit is a bit tight and a little to be watched so as not to touch the hot part of the coil when securing the two pieces together on a hot coil. the glass turns a black color but so far for one full season it functioned nicely.

I like this mosquito coil holders because it offers me more options to hang coils, it contains the coil so that it can't start a fire, and it contains the ashes so they don't get all over where it's placed. In other words, it's a practical idea that works well for me. I had two of these coil holders that served me for quite a number of years. I lost one and needed to replace it. The originals were not purchased from Amazon but I was pleased to see Amazon sold them. I've got two again and I'm all set to go camping.

Works very well! I like that I can just break off a small piece of coil to use for a short time. Don't have to worry about forgetting to put out a lit coil when I'm done outside. I also like how I can hang it on the wall. Very convenient.Also some brand coils I buy are too big for certain other coil holders, but this one is slightly larger and can fit any size coil I use.

These hold the coils fine and as expected from the description but I'm really displeased that the netting turns from white to burnt color wherever the burning coil touches it. After using it a few times it looks terrible. It still seems to work fine so I would not be upset if this was disclosed in the description, but since it was not, I expected it would continue to look as the product photo after it was used.

I uses the coils when my kids are playing outdoors be it in a playground or patio. The coil hangers provided with the coils are not ideal as they allows the ash to fall on the floor and if not hanged properly, it will leave burn marks on the floor. This item keeps the floor clean by containing the ash within the coil holder itself. It kind of trap the smoke and then emits them, making me feel that the smoke is locallised and thicker smoke is emitted as compared to the hangers provided in the coils. Overall, nice product and keep my patio safe and clean.

Since mosquito coils tend to be rather static in where it can be placed, and quite often massively dependent on wind change, I like that this holder allows for the coil to be hung up. I haven't even used it like that yet but it works great just sitting in one location too. Strangely enough, I keep thinking the coil will burn through the mesh. I've only used it a few times but it doesn't look like it will, though it does leave an intriguing black, coiled trail. I don't know why they chose to design it like that but I'm sure there had to be a reason - whether good or bad is something else.

I love this thing! It's so much easier to use that those lame little metal holders that come with the coils. And it's great that you can just pick it up and move it around easily, and even hang it if you want to. The coil always burns all the way. It's also great for burning coil fragments, which you often get when trying to separate 2 coils from each other. Lastly, I found that the bottom never really gets that hot so it's safe to set on top of just about anything. Highly recommend.
