🖤 Sleep Tight, Moisturize Right!

All about the thumbs. And the wrist. and the hem. The fabric is pretty great too.
This winter, I was plagued by skin problems on my fingertips. Flaking peeling skin, callouses, cracking and bleeding, to the point where normal tasks, like opening the toothpaste, were painful. Then I got a spate of dermatitis herpetiformosis, an eczema-like rash associated with celiac disease. Have had celiac for over a decade, the rash, never. So, I decided to get some natural product to avoid steroids, and some gloves to keep it on for several hours.I selected these gloves for the price and quantity. I have had moisturizing gloves in the past. pretty ones from the pharmacy They are usually a thin cotton knit, cost about 5 bucks a pair and have some problems. First, they are made as if someone drew an outline of one hand, fingers, thumb and all, cut two pieces of cloth in that shape, and sewed them together. Second, the knit of the fabric is fine and thin, and like all knits of that type, with 'knit', or little "v" stitches on ones side, and 'purl' or little "u" stitches on the other, the fabric curls like crazy to the "v" side, so the gloves roll up your wrist. These gloves are NOT anything like that. The knit is smooth and brushed on the outside, like flannel, which makes them feel thicker. They have a good hem on the cuff to stop any roll-up. They have an amazing elastic band around the wrist to keep them in place, keeping the lotion in, and making them comfortable to work in.The seams from outer wrist to outer base of index finger go along the "trace" of your hand, but the seams are small, and don't bunch up or pinch at the V where two fingers meet. The most important thing is that the thumb is set-in, which is to say, it has its own oval seam all around the base of the thumb, in the same way a sleeve is set into a shirt. There is no distinction between left and right, meaning the thumb doesn't have extra ease to make it point more to the front of the appropriate hand, but the fabric is soft enough to make this not noticeable. The non-handedness of the gloves make them more versatile.I can do most things with these in terms of typing, and picking things up, anything where water is not involved or capacitive touch is not needed (tablet or phone screen). My Mac glide pad wasn't too keen on them, but the Kindle screen did OK.I have not tried to wash them yet, but find out that I work in a really dirty place! Owing to the number of gloves in a pack I will probably wash several pairs at once. They are machine washable, but not machine dry-able. Now I wish I had some outlines of hands in plexiglass or something to dry in shape. I guess I will just smooth them flat and hope for the best.p.s. my glove size is 7 3/4. I purchased a medium. The gloves fit comfortably with a bit of ease on ring and pinky finger.

Quality, sizes smaller than average glove
Quality. I agree with other reviewers that it sizes small compared to other gloves. I took medium and it's snug even though I have thin hands. I washed them and no color came out! I wish other clothes were that way, especially black.

Helped my hands heal, but sizing is off and elastic needs to go
I have been struggling with a very painful condition on my fingertips, called herpetic whitlow. I have to put lysine salve on every two hours and it's been hard to keep it from getting all over everything else. In addition, just touching my mouse for any length of time made things worse, but these gloves have solved all of that. My hands are healing and I can now type and use my mouse for long periods without the pain I was experiencing before. The pros: 100% cotton, good thickness for both protection and cushioning, yet allow me full dexterity. They were a little big to begin with, but after they shrank in the wash, they fit me perfectly, felt good, and looked good. The so-so: They had an odor of sewing machine oil and felt a little stiff from the sizing, so I had to wash them before I could wear them. Per the instructions on the packaging, I air-dried them and didn't put them in the dryer, but they did shrink and they are now a true US small, not the "medium" I bought, but that's good because I really needed a small and they fit me perfectly now.The not-so-good: The elastic sat too high on my hand and left dents on my hands/wrists after wearing them, plus it was uncomfortable, so I am taking the time to remove the elastic from each one before washing and wearing it again. It takes a few minutes to do that, so I am having to space it out and fit it in as I can. I have slim wrists and hands, and this was still too tight. The gloves fit fine without the elastic, but I felt bad taking it off when I thought about the people who had worked to sew it on in the first place.Bottom line: They have really helped and I expect to continue wearing them whenever I am working at my computer (which is much of the time, as I work from home). I think the pricing is good for 10 pairs of gloves and I might order them again if I need to and there are no others that are 100% cotton without the elastic. The other ones I looked at said they were cotton, but they were all 30% polyester, which I don't want next to my skin.

Great for keeping moisturizer off of everything but your hands
I suffer from extremely dry hands in the winter, to the point of painful cracking. After years of hunting for a topical that would ease it I found one that contained Borage oil that seems to be able to control it, but the trouble was finding time to apply it and not get it smeared over everything. Even applied before bed, I didn't want moisturizer on my book or bed sheets. These gloves are perfect for wearing after applying moisturizer. They wash nicely (hypo-allergenic laundry soap, warm water, extra rinse) and this package has enough can wear the same pair each evening for a few days and grab another without having to wash them constantly. On really dry hand days they allow me to use my computer with moisturizer one and not get it all over the keys and mouse. The seams are a little bulky compared to the fabric thickness, but I'd rather that than have them have seams that tear out easily. They are long enough they cover my wrist a little as well. These gloves are not big. I ordered size large. Definitely women's sizing. My hands are about 8" around at the knuckles, extra large in women's gloves, and these *just barely* fit well. I'm hoping washing doesn't shrink them too much as long as I keep using warm water instead of hot. Most men I know probably have too thick of fingers to wear these comfortably, I doubt my husband could get them on.These gloves would probably be great for delicate hobby work as well. I recommend these gloves if you are looking for some very light hand protection.
