Heavy duty track is just what I needed

For quality, I am very happy with this product. It is made of a light aluminum. I'll admit, feeling how light it was, I was a little concerned that it would be made of metal so soft that it would deform under use, but I actually found it to be tougher and ready to stand up to more than the tracks that came pre-molded into the hull of my kayak. And after setting up and taking down every accessory on my kayak (during a month-long trip up the Pacific Coast), these rails still look brand new. Not a single scratch or sign of wear on them.One of the plusses of the lighter metal, is it's easy to cut to a custom length with a compact hacksaw. And as other commenters have remarked, you can even round the corners of your cut by rubbing the metal on concrete until you get your desired shape.I ordered six of these and cut them to the custom sizes I wanted before mounting them all over my kayak (plus two 12-inch units that I didn't have to modify). (Also: Don't forget to use a good quality silicone in the screw holes, so you don't end up with leaks in your boat. I've been very happy with Marine Goop.) Now, I always have a rail anywhere I want one. I also ordered an extra rail that I keep in my land-bag, so I can add another modification while out in the world, if I find another spot where I wish I had a rail.After a full season of kayaking, I have no negative remarks for this product and would purchase it again without a second thought. If that ever changes, I'll update this review.

The Yak Attack Gen II GearTracs are awesome, strong and you can trust your attachments to them. I have them installed on our kayaks and fishing boats. I’ve installed the GearTracs using self-tapping screws, rivets and bolts, depending on the vessel. The GearTracs make mounting depth finders, rod holders, nav lights and action cameras. … worth every penny.

Use these to mount the native sidekick wheel system on my oldtown 106 pdl and they worked perfectly!

This product is a big improvement over the installed track boards on my Old Town Predator PDL kayak. I highly recommend them. The installed boards that came with the kayak didn't allow use of dual T bolt mounts to hold heavy rods. These tracks bolted to the top of the board really improved the sturdiness and allows use of the full length of track. The only down side for me was that it comes with small screws for mounting. While this may be OK, for me it was better to purchase #10 1 1/4 long bolts with washers and nuts. Since there are 16 holes and I had 2 it was a bit of extra expenditure to make it right. I think they are a bit spendy but in the long run, a very worthwhile purchase.

I should've bought these from the start. I began with the plastic tracks found here on Amazon and the first set snapped within my first outing. The replacement set did the same on my second outing. I purchased these to and have not had any worries since. They are solid with strong T tracks. I riveted them into my kayak as I was confident that they would hold over a lifetime. Do not hesitate to spend a little extra and buy these! Totally worth it!

I think theses are great for an accessory you might want to add. To any flat surface. Like a kayak weather it be a cup/bottle holder or deck cleat , fishing pole holder. Very easy to install. Screws are included I recommend drilling a minimum of a 1/16 hole and installing the first screw so it doesn’t slide around unless you need to adjust it before you drill the second hole. I will be buying more in my next project.
