Having worn out several Panasonic headsets like this, I decided I'd try a less expensive alternative. Glad I did. The quality is on par with, or better than, the Panasonic versions that I've had (KX-TCA430). Voice quality and volume levels (on both ends) are as good or better.The mute is a sliding switch. At first I expected to really dislike it as I was used to the Panny's push button. However I find that if you're muting yourself for more than a couple of seconds, the sliding switch is much better. Not having to hold a button in the entire time you're coughing or having a quick side conversation during a conference call is a nice plus.The only issue, and it's minor, is the tension is a tiny, TINY bit tight on my noggin. That said, I've had LONG conversations with this on and never once thought about it. No pain or discomfort even after extended calls.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this headset, especially for the price. Time will tell, but based on its construction and appearance, I expect it to last through several years of moderate use. In fact, I think I'll buy at least one more as a backup!

For over 10 years, I always used the Plantronics M214C. It worked well and was comfortable, but had to be replaced every 1 - 2 years. Usually the wires would break. I decided to try a different brand and decided on this one. I've been using it for about a month and am overall very happy with. It is very sturdy, the sound quality is really good. I would buy one again if needed, but this one seems like it should last a while. The only con would be that the ridged T-pad (labeled 'soft' in the listing) isn't really all that soft and becomes uncomfortable after about an hour of use.

Update: Wantek contacted me and apologized for the fit. They shipped a stereo headset free of charge which was a much more comfortable fit. I do prefer monoaural, but I just wear one side behind my ear. I've updated the review to reflect an overall rating including the new headset. The cord quality and audio quality is the same as before just a more comfortable fit.Heavy high quality cord. Superb audio quality from the speaker and excellent mic audio. Combined with an incredibly tight fit if you, like me, have a larger average hat size. It was so tight it gave me headaches. No amount of adjustment helped. The plastic headband has plenty of flex but it's just way too tight. Feels like a vice grip... On your head. The "pad" is throughly uncomfortable despite being relatively soft rubberlike material. It just digs into your head. I'm sure it might be fine for a person with a smaller than average head or even an even average size might be okay. Above that, it will crush your skull.

I bought this headset to use with my cordless work phone. I am the manager/lead technician/service advisor for a small auto repair shop and I sometimes spend over a half hour on the phone with customers to make sure they understand what their car needs. I also use it when making short calls so that I can type on my computer and call on the phone simultaneously. Holding the phone up to my head gets old after 5 minutes and tilting my head to the side to hold the phone is clearly an awful choice. This headset is comfy for about an hour and then starts to make my right ear hurt. The mic boom is nicely adjustable for tilt angle and the cord is plenty long. The adjustable volume control is nice. Overall it’s a great product that had made work easier on my and my body.

This headset has clear sound, in that there is no static, but it sounds like the person you are talking to is in a large empty room. It kind of reverberates - very unnatural sound. I have to strain to really hear the person. The comfort of the headset is ok - not great - but what makes it bad is the thick, inflexible cord. Normally I don't even notice a headset cord. You are always aware of this one. It is stiff and gets in the way. It's so stiff that when you move around at your desk, it creates a tension and makes it hard to work. I would send it back, but I made the mistake of throwing the packaging away before I used it. I will not be using this headset again.

This is our second headset of this same model. The first one lasted for several years and that seemed reasonable. The second one broke within a month - no visible damage, just stopped working.When it works, it works and is fine. Sound quality was fine, the sliding switch was good, volume control knob worked as expected. If the 2nd one had not broken within a month, this would be a 5-star review.

These headphones save my neck. Good quality and good sound.
