At first glance you probably think these fabric shavers are all the same. But they do not all work the same and when you use one they need to get the job done reasonably quickly becasue the sweater or shirt is bigger and takes longer than you imagined. The shaver head on this thing is large and the corded shaver will run as long as you want without recharging of needing a new battery in a year or two when you pull it out of the closet and need it to work and work well. This shaver can make all those little pills on a sweater disappear and give the fabric a hard clean finish. Too many articles of cloths look good when you buy them but use cheaper fabrics with short staple fibers. These pill up and fuzz up easily. So don't plan on them looking good next year without some help. This shaver has a great case, works quickly and effectively, and does not need batteries. I specifically wanted a corded shaver for that very reason and you should too. This fabric shaver is the real deal.

My couch was way overdue for this. It worked well. I used both blades in the box because my couch was so bad. I had a depiller I bought several years ago but couldn't find new blades for it. This one has replacement blades on amazon that is also very easy to change and replace. Love that you can just plug it in and go… no batteries needed. Total win!

I got this fabric shaver and went after my couch and pillows. I could hardly see the print on the pillows because of the little fabric balls covering it. Wow! This shaver is impressive. I cleared the couch and all 6 pillows in less than an hour. The pillows look brand new, minus the stains I can now see. The couch fabric looks new again too. I should have bought this sooner. I hated the feeling of the fabric balls against my skin. My couch and pillows are soft again.The unit is larger than I expected but very light. It feels more solid and durable than ones I have bought in the past. It is powerful and I love the included plug. My last one used batteries and wasn't as powerful. It even comes with a nice carrying case. The only issue isn't a big deal. I had to use an extension cord to reach all areas of my couch as the cord isn't very long. The cord is plenty long enough for working on clothing. I can't wait to tackle the fabric balls on my clothing. I cannot speak to the durability, as I only got it today but it worked like a champ. In my opinion, it was worth the higher cost.

This item used to come WITH A CASE! Know that if getting this for someone else, that this did NOT come with the nice zipper case. The item is great, works well... took one star off for there being no mention of this change. We use our current ones on everything - just be careful when storing away the cord, as it can become damaged if kinked even when one is careful with items. Replacement cords do with with this item, just pay attention to the voltage.

I was looking at pill shavers online for my good wool coat, which after 2 years had started pilling (shame on you, J. Crew! Especially for the money you charge...). I had used small battery-operated pill shavers before, but found them to be mediocre and ineffective. I'm glad I spent the extra money and got this one.It comes in a handy carrying/travel case, and can be used plugged into an outlet or with batteries. I used it on my good wool coat first thing, and it was fast and effective, making my coat look like new again! I also used it on a couple of cotton/poly blend sweatshirts. Worked great on those, too.Maybe this is just a sign that I'm old and boring, but...using this thing is hella fun. You can see the results as you're working, so it's very satisfying. And who doesn't want their clothes looking like new again? I have a knit dress from Forever 21 that pilled the first time I wore it from my crossbody purse strap rubbing against the fabric. I know, it's my own fault for buying cheaply-made, shitty clothing, but damn if I'm not excited to get that ten-dollar dress looking like I just bought it again, using my new toy. Two thumbs bigly up. Very good purchase.

Good product, works well, however kind small holder for the lint need to empty often.

I tried two before this one and was ready to give up, but thankfully didn't. This shaver has a very large lint catcher compartment, a much bigger shaving head than most, the blades are sharp and easy to clean with provided brush and the choice of plugging it in or using a batteries is a huge plus. By having it plugged into an outlet, you can shave until your heart's content and never worry about the batteries running low. I've been working on a homemade knitted afghan that has pills all over it and the side that's completely shaved looks like the last stitch was just made. I love it's simplicity. When I'm sitting down and my item is on the table, I find it easier to hang on to the big round part underneath the handle instead of the handle itself. The beautiful red zip case is just an added bonus because the shaver is everything I'd hoped for and more. It also comes with an extra blade, so you may never need another one.
