Made the fireplace log set look more realistic

We got the electric firelogs but it was just not a good look until we added the mat. The ashmat adds so much to the overall appearance of the firelogs. The flickering flames is nice but the glowing embers under the logs just makes the whole thing come together. Don't get the logs and fail to get the ashmat, you will regret it.

A little pricey but well worth the money! It fit perfectly into my parents bedroom fireplace and looks very realistic. Ended up be a great value and adds a lovely ambiance to the room.

I love how this looks with my logs, looks like real embers from a distance. The item itself is rather thin and flimsy, and really over priced for what you get. I expected it to look more realistic even when its not on. It does not.

The media could not be loaded. It’s better than I thought it would be. One click of the remote and I have a cozy fire. Makes my living room feel relaxing and special at night.

The 'flame' on this model is great, one of the very best I've seen....BUT....As noted in many other reviews, this model has TERRIBLE 'reflection problems'. The reflective coated plexiglass piece that provides the visual projection screen for the fake flame, ALSO reflects pretty much everything in front of it. If your fireplace is 'deep set' and the room is fairly dark, this 'reflection problem' is minimized...(but not gone). Overhead lights or a nearby TV, or a lamp, will cause mirror like reflections from the fireplace. These light sources do not have be directly in front of the Dimplex to cause this problem. Depending where one sits on the couch, the fireplace reflects an image of the floor and the throw rug in the middle of the room...back at you.I spent 4 hours changing angles (left right) and putting shims under the back legs and then the front...trying to control the reflections. I did manage to reduce them, but nothing I tried got rid of them.Lastly, the 'edge' of the plexiglass reflection screen tends to "glow" when the unit is on....(some reviewers have suggested that a different shaped piece might reduce this glow). If this 'glow' was the only issue I would give 4 stars, but the reflection issue is really a problem.

heat our our home .heat hadbeen coming on every 25 minutes but with the fireplacenot all .Den has600 sq.feet including 1bedroom off den and kitchen. WE LOVE IT!

The media could not be loaded. This insert looks truly amazing. I appreciate the way our fireplace shows depth while the insert is in use. We purchased the ember mat after the fact, and it really does add to the effect. Other reviewers made note that the rounded screen was sometimes noticeable in a well lit room and I was a little concerned about that. It looks great in the environment where I have it set up, and I need to really look for it to notice it. I find the low heat setting works best for us. Room gets a little to warm with the high heat setting. People comment to us how realistic it looks and I agree and am pleased with this purchase, though it was a little pricey for what it is, but I somewhat realized that up front.
