Morakniv Eldris Fixed-Blade Pocket-Sized Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade and Plastic Sheath 2.2-Inch.

To be honest I only bought the eldris because it's an adorable version of my kansbol. Turns out it's a pretty handy little knife. Lot of work in a small easy to carry package. Great for small more precise work and to top it off it's just as well made as any other mora.

Very sharp out of the box. Love the compact design, fits well in the pocket. The blade thickness vs. the size allows for this smaller knife to take on jobs that you would typically need a larger blade for. Over all, great bang for your buck.

I will say that I’ve personally never had a knife that could shave the hair off my arm outta the box so as a whittiling gift for someone special this was actually pretty darn nice. It’s a short blade tho obviously so keep that in mind but it’s very nice.

Very handy little knife I keep in my vehicle. Keeps a good edge and is a very convenient tool.

Great little knife, that isn't little.

I love this knife. While it isn’t necessarily the best Mora for the money, it also isn’t super expensive for the quality you’re getting here. I love that it has the unfinished blade spine, and I can confirm that this does help with using a fire steel. I’ve also seen reviews say that the unfinished spine makes it uncomfortable to use in a pushing based carving style. Firstly, I wouldn’t get this specifically as a carving knife, though for me it does work well for that in addition to other functions. And secondly, the spine hasn’t really been noticeably uncomfortable while carving, even when I do push the spine of the blade (which is at least 50-60% of the time for my carving style). Something I was skeptical about was the compound grind on this blade. But, even though this is a pretty small fixed blade, the compound grind actually does work well for it. It doesn’t sacrifice the ease of sharpening the blade, because the scandi grind angle actually remains consistent throughout the blade, so it’s still one relatively easy to find sharpening angle. And, the compound aspect of the grind allows you to have a greater variety of cutting angles when you need that kind of thing. In terms of blade steel, I think you’d have unrealistically high expectations for this price point to be disappointed by its quality. It’s nice and stiff, sharpens relatively easily, and holds an edge, even with a true scandi grind. This knife does come sharp out of the box, but with about an hour of work, some varying grades of sandpaper and strop, it’s actually really easy to take that sharpness up a notch and put a real razor edge on the knife. The handle is great for a guy with big hands like me, and the grip on it works well. My only real gripe with this is the sheath. For me, when I wear this knife and I go hiking, I can be jumping around a little, climbing a bit, and other higher energy activities. And I have had situations where it’s fallen out of the sheath because of an impact that I would really expect a good sheath to hold well against. Because of this, if you’re going to particularly active while wearing this, to add a quick release stopper knot on a land yard through the hole on the end of the handle to make sure everything is as safe as can be. Other than that, I’d strongly recommend this!

This is the knife and sheath ONLY, not the Morakniv Eldris Fixed-Blade Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade, Lanyard & Fire Starter, 2.2" which has in addition a fire starter kit, lanyard, and strap for securing the knife in the sheath. Many buyers think they are getting the full kit when they aren't. The full kit makes you think this is a better deal than it is. The plastic sheath has no belt clip, for instance. The Sandvik 12c27 steel is comparable to cheap 440A in many respects. Morakniv's heat treatment does probably boost their steel to more like 440C than 440A. Regardless, Sandvik 12c27 is not a "super steel." It's just a nicer run-of-the-mill stainless that happens to be made in Scadinavia. So this knife only has "Stainless Steel" etched on it ... they don't even bother to specify that it's Sandvik 12c27. Steel aside, this is a very short Morakniv with a sheath you put in a pocket. It may or may not be legal to carry concealed where you are. It has a partial tang and a lanyard hole. It's sabre ground with a drop point and a taper. The blade is reasonably thick if you need to pry something, just don't stress the tip or it may snap off. It has a large bulbous handle that's easy to grasp in a fist grip. Good small utility knife for various purposes. But I took off two stars because of the false photos, because this has no belt clip, and because Sandvik 12c27 steel is not all that nowadays.UPDATE: Amazon finally fixed the photos after repeated complaint. So I'm only taking off one star because 12c27 steel is nice but no "super-steel," and because this has no belt clip. I realize this won an award but to me it's just a very short stainless Morakniv with no belt clip. This is designed for concealed carry inside a pocket. The 2.2" fixed blade may or may not be legal to carry concealed where you are. Peace!
