Defective, was replaced, and can’t wait to use it!
The media could not be loaded. Update: Received replacement, return label and I now have a working spring compressor from Jack Tech. Let me tell you this thing is amazing. This is by far my favorite spring compressor I have ever used. It is sturdy and feels safe (still be cautious it is a spring under pressure). I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of this product and knowing how Jack Tech stood by on their product makes me even happier. I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a floor spring compressor.Update: Keep the box and filling until you have the unit installed and functioning correctly. Product went from one star to three at this point. We received a product that was greatly defective in the casted threading. We accidentally contacted the manufacturer instead of the location purchased from. However, they came right back and is sending us a replacement, plus a return label to ship the defective one back. Customer service email communication has been fantastic. Still bummed about the delay in repairing our vehicle, but I’m still excited to use this tool and look forward to a five star once we get the chance to use it.Original: We were needing and excited to get this tool. But not only is the base ALL dinged up, but the threading makes it impossible to put together. You can see from the video that one side is quality sharp thread, then as you rotate, the threading becomes pressed flat. This makes it impossible to thread the two parts together! As we continue to wait to do the shocks on our vehicle, not only is this depressing in the quality, but now it delays ever bit of maintenance on the vehicle that we need to make run.

Change your own Springs/Struts Coilovers and save money!
I have a few older BMW cars and an older Yukon, and neede to install new coilovers / struts / springs. I took my components to the local tire shop and they charged me 180 bucks to assemble the four new struts and springs. I also help out my family, friends, and neighbors with car repairs.Instead of paying another 360 bucks to change out my cars suspensions, I ordered this strut spring compressor and did it myself. Assembly was not difficult, and the instructions provided were adequate. After about 30 minutes of unboxing and assembly, I put together two sets of 8 total struts, and boy was it easy!No more wrenching on the cheap and dangerous spring compressors available at auto parts stores and online, that can slip and remove your fingers or worse! The Jacktech SK-3000 Strut Compressor is a professional assembly that is the right tool for the right job of disassembling and assembling many various kinds of struts/springs for late model vehicles. After doing it the dangerous and hard way three times in the past, I can't believe I didn't but this sooner!Highly Recommended for DIY home and pro shops.Try to buy it on sale to save a bit!

Perfect for 4th gen Camaro/Firebirds
Much easier than suffering through those screw type threaded rod compressors!I've done more spring swaps on 4th gen Firebirds and Camaros than I care to count. I have always used the screw type compressors, but it's slow, tedious, and just one slip or broken bolt away from injury or death every time you use them. I decided to try this as it is the most competitively priced DIY option. The compressor showed up well boxed, with packaged sub assemblies inside of Styrofoam. It was extremely easy and straight forward to put together with no tools required. It appears to be sturdy, and the cast parts are all nicely powdercoated. Bolts and threads run well and didn't have any burrs or defects. The return spring could have been implemented better, but works just fine, if a little noisy.I put it to use on stock height springs off of a 1999 Firebird Formula, this compressor was able to handle them with ease, there was no deflection, odd noises, or failure of any sort during initial use. However on heavy duty springs, turning the handles can be difficult, and requires standing on the base to prevent it from toppling over. This can be a little nerve wracking as you are standing almost directly over the compressed strut! My only complaint is that it would be helpful to have bolt holes or a bracket cast into the base to allow customers to bolt it down to concrete or another stronger/larger base for ease of use.

Safe and easy
I replaced our wall mounted compressor with this one in the shop. Because of it's design, it has compressed a variety of struts securely

DIY home auto mechanic
This is NOT an investment for everyone!!! But if you are a DIY home mechanic and you do replace struts to help others from rip-off mechanics and shops, then this is a MUST (in my opinion) a SAFETY PURCHASE for strut replacement. Let's USER Be-Ware - Strut replacement is DANGEROUS ... No BUT's !!!! The Jacktech SK-3000 Strut Compressor is the SAFEST tool that I have come across when it comes to replacing struts. If you are a multi vehicle owner and you have to replace the struts on just two vehicles - then this investment of safety gear has just paid for itself for a DIY mechanic.

Excellent purchase!
I own a couple of side by sides and need to upgrade the coils. I saw that Shock Therapy uses this compressor in their shop so I decided to buy it. Works perfect!

Safer to use
+Easy setup of the vice base arms and upper arms.+The vice bases can be reversed for different types of shocks.+Smooth operation; crank it and the internal clutch holds it until you manually apply reverse tension.-It's a little unsturdy when you start cranking on it so make sure to step on the base.-I wasn't too fond of is the upper arm's hooks have small teeth on the underside of the hooks which do leave impressions on the spring's powder coat. 9/10 people would never know unless they were looking for it. Obviously I, as the installer, did.
