PetSafe Automatic Feeder for 2 Meals, Pet Safe Design, for Dry Dogs and Cat Food, Grey, Pack of 1

Over the last year I have bought five of these feeders. I work some pretty weird shift patterns, different even from day to day, so this is a perfect solution for ensuring my cats get fed regularly.The feeders are sturdy, easy to program and, when working absolutely fantastic!However, out of five, only two remain working, the other three have all developed exactly the same issue... At some point the motor stops going round at small intervals and either stops altogether (one of them) or goes round continuously (two of them), leaving me with very frustrated cats trying to get at the food as it briefly appears and disappears (actually hilarious to watch and thankfully happened both times when I was home so I was able to be there).So.... Very, very reluctantly I am having to search for another pet feeder as this is becoming rather expensive, I currently have three cats and am trialling other brands, main problem being most are over complicated and annoying in comparison, but I'm hoping they will last a little longer.It's a shame because otherwise this is a perfect solution, well made and I've never had a cat manage to break them open, they just need to last a decent length of time!

This is an easy to use product and so far works well. Didn't have any problems with accuracy of timing (or at least my cat didn't tell me there were any problems). No problems with not opening properly either. Eating trays are a good size for a cat but I would say you would need bigger ones for a dog.The batteries are D batteries and you need 4 of them. If you will not be using the feeder everyday, take the batteries out and store them safely for the next time otherwise the feeder will carry on rotating unnecessarily. As it moves the dishes around (and this is heavy work for batteries), the batteries will need replacing quite often, particularly if you intend to use this every day.And the last word goes to my cat - meow.

Au bout de deux jours notre chat a compris le mécanisme et pousse les plateaux,,, résultat, il’mange Tout en une fois et le mécanisme n’est vraiment pas solide... à déconseiller aux chats qui on un QI supérieur à celui d’un fer à souder... Si votre chat est totalement stupide, ça peut le faire.., sinon, passez votre chemin !!

Disappointing, I didnt expect much for the price even i was disappointed with the quality. it is made of a rather flimsy plastic and is run by a clock motor and a couple of plastic cogs. i have tried it 5 times and it opened 4. being only a clock motor you have to be careful about setting the dials and they might not move for 30 mins, this seems to be in relation to how much force you put on them and you have to give a bit of leeway to the timing.

I have previously bought an alternative automatic bowl which are amazing and show clear signs that its functing when applying a battery.But bought this item due to the cost. Didnt think to test before i needed to use it, as just thought what could possibly be different to the other brand.On the day of using, applied battery, could not hear whether the bowl was functiong.Decided to be on the safe side and not put my cats at risk of not having anything at all, set the timer for a couple of hours. Watched upon my indoor camera, the bowl did open but not in the time frame I set it to..I did not find this is a trust worthy bowl.Decided to buy another of the brand I originally bought. So ended up wasting money.Also this is a 24 hour bowl. Found the 48 hour ones are more suitable if your away for longer
