This is indeed an honest-to-goodness GoPro battery. It holds its charge as it should, and performs as it should. Not a whole lot else to say really.Well, I guess I could say that it tastes terrible, but I wouldn't recommend trying that for yourself. Also: Do not flush.

Great product. I previously purchase off-brand batteries. They worked well but battery life was bad after several uses. This GoPro battery works well and lasts longer!

Used a couple of times since purchasing this replacement for an older GoPro and it works fine.

Obviously this is GoPro brand. This is the battery that comes with your GoPro when you buy it. It is a good battery. The GoPro batteries typically hold an hour or two, so getting an extra battery or two is HIGHLY recommended if you want to film most of your day. This does work for Hero 6. BE WARNED: this product does NOT come fully charged nor at all, so plan to charge it before you need to use it. If anyone is wondering what the tab is there for on the top, it's so you can pull the battery out of the GoPro easily. If you are going to have multiple batteries i do recommend getting the set with the battery and the 2x battery charger, or else you will have to charge each battery at once in the GoPro making it unable to use. I only gave this 4 stars, because i wish it would have came charged or at least a little juice.

I was trying to resurrect a Hero 5 Black that had the original (dead) battery and had never had a firmware update. Because it was running original firmware, it wouldn't power up with some non-OEM batteries that I ordered. So, I ordered this, crossed my fingers, and hoped that I hadn't just thrown more money at a broken camera. This OEM battery started the camera right up, and allowed me to do the firmware update.As an aside, the non-OEM batteries worked after the firmware update.So, this OEM battery is expensive, but in some situations, there is no substitute for the real thing.

go pro hero 5 just came out recently, and it's hard to find extra batteries... the price on this is very reasonable, compared to what I seen on a couple other sites.UPDATE: I have purchased a second battery, to have with me just in case... I do recommend purchasing the gopro dual port Supercharger, it charges the batteries much quicker than the usb into the computer... Now, after testing this battery and the original, I found that recording video continuosly in 2K, 30frames per second, my battery lasted 1hr. 25min. before it showed only approx. 3min. left before it would shut off, it probably would last longer if I did not have other things going, like image stabilizer, etc... so being a battery that just came out..., this is probably where it should be... I would recommend this.

Don't purchase these batteries. I ordered one that arrived on 8 July 2025 and the battery had a manufacturing date of "2019-3-02." So the "new" battery is over 6 years old! The battery was totally dead, it wouldn't charge, I factory reset my GoPro7, no luck. The GoPro camera reads "no battery" when trying to charge it. My original battery still works in the GoPro7, so the camera is not the issue.I ordered another battery that arrived today, 9 July 2025. The "new" battery has a manufacturing date of "2019-5-26." Another 6 year old battery that doesn't work. I can't believe they are selling 6 year old batteries for $40 that don't work. I'll attach photos so you can see the batteries that were shipped to me. They are GoPro batteries, they are just 6 year old dead batteries that have been sitting in a warehouse since 2019.

A GoPro battery that held charge pretty good, even though my GoPro camera was hacked as soon as I put the battery in. Once I realized my camera was hacked, I noticed it got very hot and battery was depleted. It was charged100% when I put it in. It was a good battery, that lasted long and held charge allowing hackers to play with it, but for current price two batteries not one should be included.I bought it on Aug 10, 2017 for $15.99, today is Sunday, December 18th 2022 and it costs $39.95.
