Fun
Who doesn't like Catan and taking it with you? My husband beat me the first and only time we've played so far.

Enjoyable and easy
Love this game for a quick setup game and when there isn't a lot of space to play. The CATAN world comes out in this game. Simple to learn and fun, fun, fun.

Might be challenging for new players.
This looks to be a fun game akin to the original Catan game using only cards.Though I’m familiar with that game, I found this one fairly difficult to introduce to players who didn’t already know the base game. The Road and Knight cards seem rather sparse - especially for the two-player game, requiring players to “steal” to get more than 2 roads each. I’m sure the designers have a reason for this, but still, seems a little counter-productive and makes the play more cutthroat than it needs to be. Especially if you’re trying to get new players involved.

So much fun, lots of strategy
This game is great! It is quick, fun, and challenging. It’s the perfect size to keep in my purse and pull out randomly when you have a half hour to burn.We played it with 4 people and with 2 people both were fun. I purchased a second deck so we can play with up to 8 people =)It looks like there are a bunch of different versions of the full Catan game, they look really cool and I wish they had different versions for this quick card version. I could play games all day but those playing with me seem more willing to play more short games here and there than play the other long version. My other favorite game kind of similar (a quick version of a larger game that is fun but challenging enough for 30 year olds) is Monopoly Deal. Same thing; to play more than 4 people you buy a second deck. Check it out!My friends who have played Catan liked this version and those of us playing for the first time did as well. I definitely recommend this game for your collection.

A nice "on the go" alternative to Catan
I got this because for the past couple of months I've been really into playing Catan, but sometimes the board and pieces may be a hassle. So when I found this card version, it seemed practical enough to carry around in my bag and have impromptu Catan sessions, specially since it allows for two players.Box arrived broken, which sorta sucks but it's not a complete deal breaker. What I'm slightly more upset about is that these cards aren't the standard Catan size, so the sleeves (for Catan) do not fit, but they aren't the standard American card size either. They're a weird in between and in the meantime there aren't any sleeves that fit properly so I fear that they'll get dirty in the near future.

Fun!
Super fun to have a card version of Catan. Similar but also unique.

Simple and fun, I recommend!
I've played this game 2 player, and it was super fun! We have the Catan board game, and honestly I think I prefer this to the original. It's easy to set up, easy to play, small and quick. I really enjoyed it. It involves strategy and of course competition. For the price, you cannot beat it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good 2 player game, seems also fun for bigger group too!

Would like more cards
On our first few plays we kept running out of certain cards, and indeed the rules even state that when having more players you must buy a second set to mix in. It isn't a stopper just a nuisance. That didn't sit well with us since just one was quite expensive for what we got. That aside, it is a nice game. We have always been at odds with all the Catan games in that some of the rules seem artificially contrived to drive other outcomes that are beyond our understanding - "What were they thinking?" This card game is no exception, but it is easy to create a house rule if you should desire; odds are that won't be necessary for you to enjoy Struggle for Catan. Card quality is reasonably good. We are not ones for admiring game art but the art appears well developed. The instructions are adequate, even though the game is easy to learn.Even if you have never played any CATAN game, this card game is a good game and enough of an introduction to an unusual game to play, yet don't worry, you won't become infected with a desire to run out to purchase the material heavy and expensive CATAN games. It is not a gateway game. You too will soon have "Wood for Sheep?"
