I use the brand and the 5 micron with charcoal definitely works well. The filter shows lots of trapped dirt, sediment when changes. They last me about 3 months. Good price for me. Locally I pay $30 a piece. To take out most particles that bacteria can grow on a 5 micron filter or less is needed

Update - customer service was great. Issued a refund and had good communication. Thank you :) Nothing particularly wrong with this filter. Water pressure is good and there's no oder, etc. So it does what it says it will do at a good price. I have recently discovered that a mild coconut allergy has become more severe, and these filters use coconut husk in the filtration system. I had a bad reaction to the water coming from the shower, and needed to bypass the filter. It turns out that lots (all?) filters of this type/size use coconut in their production, so if you have an issue with coconut, definitely avoid. If you are ok with coconut, go for it.

Works well and good price. Ignore the reviews that show pictures of it not being full of carbon, I just cut this one I replaced in half and it was completely full.
