Whitmor Rolling Utility Shopping Cart, Black

I use this cart to tote groceries from the car to the house, especially when I buy a bunch of heavier items. It's the perfect size for me, but I'm only buying for one person. The cart isn't very big. It's a pretty standard size. I'm 5'4" tall, and have no trouble managing it or rolling it. It's right at the perfect height for me to push or pull it. Putting it together was fairly simple, though the back wheels were a little tricky. The instructions for it could've been clearer, but I got it together pretty quickly.I also find that it's rather sturdy. I've put three gallon jugs of water, three (1) liter soda bottles, along with various grocery bags. I will say, if you do a lot of shopping, and have many items, it might be too small. For me, as a single person, it's worked very well. Only once did I buy more than I could stuff into the cart.When empty, it's very lightweight, easy to lift. I'm able to pick it up with one hand, and I don't consider myself to have a great deal of upper body strength.

Previously,I purchased a more expensive cart with a bag and a seat; it was cheap and weak and broke down after about three uses. The Whitmore cart cost a lot less but is much stronger and gets the job done very well. Sometimes, I can pack in more groceries than I can pull up the stairs. It does not have those "magic stair-climbing wheels" like the other one but it still is able to climb stairs with me. The Whitmore is just a good, strong, basic shopping cart that fits my needs. It has no frills...but frills won't get my groceries from the car to the house. Besides getting a much better product, dealing with Amazon is just so much more efficient and easy. Prices are good; shipping is usually less, if not just plain free; and customer service is second to none.

The grocery store is one mile away. Flat road. I often walk it for the exercise. But you can't carry much in your arms. I had my doubts about the rough sidewalks, but the shopping cart rolled easily. No problems at all on this first trip. The basket was packed to the rim with about 40 pounds of groceries in plastic bags.It could use a liner for privacy. Something 10.5" x 12.5" x 18" tall will fit inside the basket. Can't find anything... I may make one out of canvas.Wheels are easy to attach. Instructions and illustrations explain it. Basically, put a washer on each side of a wheel, and secure the wheel to the axle with a cotter pin. The cart is sturdy. Steel construction. Weighs 6 lbs 11 oz.

I wanted something to bring to the supermarket when I needed a few heavy things. Water, milk, etc. I saw all the reviews about how frustrating it was to put together. I did find a YouTube video that helped but even after putting it together the back wheels didn't seem all that secure. Before I used it for the first time I did add some tape around the wheels - if it fell apart I was hoping the tape would keep all the pieces together. I walked around the supermarket with it and then 10 minutes to the bus stop. It is very lightweight and its not the largest cart out there but as I had to bring it on the bus I was looking for something that would be easy to pick up and carry when I needed to. I'll use it for that purpose and to bring blankets and comforters to the laundromat. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the back wheels hold up.

I would love to give it 5 stars but putting on the front wheels were the biggest pain. It didn't fully explain how to do it. The front wheels need the silver metal piece to go through the hole. The metal piece had to skinny rods and I thought both pieces had to go through the hole. The straight part goes through the hole. The bent part goes on the outer part of the black metal bar.The skinny metal bars on the side don't seem very sturdy. They move very easily. I don't know how well they will hold. I'll update my review after more time with it.The length is good. I'm 5'5 and it goes up to my waist.Update: I used it to go grocery shopping. It was really helpful but it's the biggest pain when it comes to little dents or small rocks. I'll be walking and slam into the basket because it gets stuck in a small line in the ground (the front wheels). It would be easier if all the wheels were the same size as the back ones.

I don’t know why but expecting biggerIt is sturdy enough and does the jobsI needed after spine surgeries for groceries and laundry mainly. Had similar before but it was too big. This one a bit small but ok happy overall thank you

I ordered this cart to roll laundry to the laundromat and loved it when it first arrived. However, I've used it about four times and the top bar of the basket has already broken. At first, I thought this was more of an esthetic issue because the laundry actually still holds in well, but this is the horizontal bar that attaches to the diagonal handle bar, and now that it's broken at the joint, the whole structure is compromised. If you try to push the cart, the whole basket wiggles and almost collapses.I came back to Amazon to see whether it is possible to return it, but it looks like I would have to pay for the shipping fees so it might not be worth it. Now that I'm looking at the product page again, I realize that the pictures displayed here are actually different: The model I was sent (by Amazon) is like on the initial picture (the one where the cart is shown empty). If you look closely, all other pictures have the top bar made of a wider piece of metal, probably because they are well aware of the problem.Knowing this, I really cannot recommend this product anymore - if you can be sure to have a more sturdy version, you might want to give it a try, but the one that Amazon is selling right now will fall apart after only a few uses.
