Improve night time vision.
Use this with a RING camera, and some dark spots completely disappears.I have better range and I am more comfortable knowing what is going on around the house at night.

extend your night vision camera
people who make cameras are in the business to sell them. if you put the lamp and the lense behind the same glass, the range is limited. i extend the range of my cameras with these, up to about 300 or so feet. being in a forest, i cant get better range.they are 110, but could be powered with solar and a battery, 12V 1amp, so the distance to set them is up to you. while you can see a red glow if you look at them, the light is invisible to the human eye.i will be buying more, they work very well.

Does the job however, the light is concentrated in one area
The Univivi 6 LED IR illuminator provided enhanced night vision visibility to my Lorex PTZ LLNZ32P4. It is a great improvement from what used to be near pitch-black to now usable video surveillance night vision capability. The only thing that I could say is a con is that the light is focused on a centrally lit area leaving the sides with zero illumination.I have read about complaints where this starts to develop blinking issues in about 8 months to a year and some waterproofing issues. To mitigate this issue, I have proactively added some precautionary fail-safe such as plugging my illuminator into a smart switch that will completely power it off on a schedule during the day. I also applied a silicon seal on the mating surfaces of the illuminator to make it 100% weather/waterproof.I will come back to this review to update after a year.Edit: It is Feb. 2, 2025… well it has been more than a year now since I purchased and installed this product and still holding up. I am purchasing a second unit for the other side of the house. I think what keeps the longevity for me is not relying on its internal photo sensor but using a scheduled switch that will completely turn off the unit during the day.

Exactly what I was looking for
I ordered this for my job in a research lab. One of our studies has portions that are in complete darkness. Our current cameras (older ceiling mounted security cameras) could not capture footage during the dark segments of our protocol. We needed something that could amplify the visibility without emitting any light source into the room. Our solution was to face the illuminator toward the ceiling so the participant can't see the red hue of the bulbs, but we still get a perfect view of them while the room is dark during the research appointment. This worked perfectly and provided a clear crisp image in blackout conditions. The attached image is in a room that's nearly pitch black.

Must have for nighttime!
I've seen these units around for quite a while but never really thought about getting one as I didn't think it would really make a difference but I finally talked myself into getting one and holy cow what a difference! It really is like night and day there are 2 photos attached one with the illuminator and one without see if you can see the difference! (Camera has built in IR LEDs) Installation was easy I used 2 stainless self tapping screws but hardware is supplied one wire and it's ready to go, the unit is quite small about 4"x5" on the front and maybe 4" deep the construction seems great it's aluminum that is then coated and the wire connector has a water proof bushing, it uses the same connector as a camera and according to the sticker on the back of should draw about .5amps so if you get a splitter you should be able to run it off the same power source as a cctv camera that's what I'm doing but I've got a dedicated power supply that can provide 5 amps per camera. I've only had it a few hours but after seeing the difference I will be buying a few more.

Seems legit.
I was impressed with the build quality. I personally like the bring your own power supply approach. If you are like me you might have a small collection of power supplies lying around. I’m using one rated for 0.75 amps at 12VDC (9 watts).I wanted to use this with my Ring first gen doorbell. It did not work well for that application. The sensor in that unit is just old tech and I probably need to replace that camera. I was hoping this would be an easy fix. But I experimented with it in a couple of other locations and It is great for filling in blindspots for compatible cameras.I got the 6watt version to save power since it will be on whenever it is dark and my impression is that is more than ample if supplementing a security camera with onboard IR LEDs. I’ll probaby pick up a couple more of these to resolve some other blindspots.Install tip: the back cover flips around to give you some additional flexibility with mounting. Mine is attached to an L-bracket I had lying around.

Minor hiccup at first, but now I am satisfied!
This is an UPDATED review. I had issues with the original shipment that I received, but I was contacted by the manufacturer and they were very quick to help alleviate my concerns. They have replaced the defective units with no hassle and now I am happy to report that the replacement lights are working great and really do brighten up the view on my parking lot cameras. The light is obviously not visible to the naked eye, but when the night-vision cameras kick on after dark you can really see very well now.Below is the original review-------------------------------------I bought 5 of these to help supplement the night vision ability of my camera system. ONE of the lights works fine. TWO of them are very dim. ONE of them worked fine for a few days and then just died. ONE of them was dead on arrival. So disappointed.
