Smells exactly the way it should
This smells exactly like cedar; I was expecting to be disappointed and was not. I have purchased cedar essential oil in the past and have been extremely disappointed because it did not smell like the actual wood and this is precisely what I wanted.

Used for Cedar chest
I just applied to the inside top of my cedar chest. It is around 85 years old and didn't smell much. However the original instructions directed that all items be wrapped in cotton or other fabric to prevent the natural oils from marking the linens. I decided to leave the bottom and sides as is. My mom had this chest for the last 50ish years and nothing left marks on the fabrics. The smell doesn't seem like what I remember cedar smelling like but other reviews say that as it dries that changes.Some reviewers mentioned that the inner lid was difficult to remove. I had to use a hammer to drive the blade of the screwdriver thru the inner lid to pop it out. The can sealed just fine without the extra lid.
