This shirt miso is usually a pale color and has a very good flavor. The latest shipment arrived and it is dark chocolate brown.I will not use it and I don't feel like tasting it as something is wrong here.Tried a second order but it has the same problem!! DO NOT ORDER!!

Not white miso
I ordered two. Neither are shiro miso, although they are labeled so. A non-returnable item.

Real Kyoto miso
Is like a red miso in flavor, bold and deep.

Inventory error has not been fixed
Just like other people I ordered White Miso but received Red Miso. The red Miso tastes fine, but it's not what I ordered.

Got red. Still good..but prefer white
So the one i received was clearly sitting on a shelf aging for a few more months that shiro miso paste became red miso paste. Its still fine. It will not kill you people. But taste wise i myself prefer the more subtle taste of white instead of red.
