So far I have been enjoying the beginning of the book and the content is solid. My main complaint is that there are simple errors in the print or editing process that remain so I have to read sentences again at times. In addition, the font seems a bit faded at times and I wish it was more bold for ease of reading.

what an amazing book it makes you wonder why wouldn't the British and Americans listen to the head of the Nazi intelligence who putted everything on the line to avoid war and then later get rid of Hitler. How could Britain's PM say to the guys face he was "crazy" and 15 days later the same PM was a guest in Hitler's compound. Knowing Prescott Bush (father of George Bush the president) financed Hitler makes me wonder what was really going on. It seems like it was Global Coup d'état attempt by Nazis families in Asia, America and Europe at all once.

This book will give you a clear, concise picture of what was going on during WWII in the German intelligence community. I was searching for something like this about the Abwehr when I found this. Reads well, has researched facts and statements and the parameters are wide enough to bring the timeline of the surrounding war into the fold.

Good Historical book zeroing in on the factions who took actions against Hitler's regime.

This is a wonderful book. A bit dry, perhaps, for those not familiar with the persons and events of the war years, but for anyone interested in Admiral Canaris, Hans Oster, Donanyi, Gisevius, Beck and all the others involved in the German Resistance (later called the Black Orchestra) this book is a font of valuable information. Canaris was an extraordinary man who frustrated the Nazis' war efforts by his clandestine actions and misinformation. He, Oster, and others were executed by the Gestapo days before the arrival of the Allies in Berlin. Canaris was a true hero. He predicted his own death, and made many prophetic statements about the disaster that would befall Germany after the war - whether or not the Nazis won. We will probably never know the true extent of this man's influence on the outcome of the war. The copy I have is discarded stock from Dundee library, battered and soiled, but a book that I will treasure always.

I have browsed the pages and there was information that I wasn't aware of concerning the numerous attempts to assassinate the Fuhrer! From a unique view, I sense a similarity between the United States division in politics with the blind support for DIS-INFORMATION gone astray! The men and women who stood for Democracy in Germany faced many forms of threats to silence them! I feel that America has experienced such turmoil at present? I have hoped that the TRUTH will come through and the American Democratic Values will be RESTORED? The VOTE must be GUARDED and not be SELECTED by the few. Then only will Democracy prevail and not fail like it did in Germany!
