Q: Are you able to print directly onto the blank side of the card. Does the exterior have a glossy or matte finish?

I also struggled with printing on the blank side and finally gave up. Then my wife suggested I use a really thin font. I switched my font to "calibri light," and ran one through and sure enough, it didn't bleed out at all. You do have to be cautious for a moment or two while it dries, but that has worked well for me and I've printed on quite a few of them by this point. That's going through an HP inkjet.

Yes it is. My wife purchased the cards and when I seen the company name I had to give her a hard time

Q: Are these recyclable?

The brown envelopes look as if they may have been manufactured from recycled paper. As for the cards, I have always thought that shiny surfaced cardboard is not recyclable. That would include a lot of cards. None of these cards have glitter or other content which would eliminate them from being recyclable.
