Replaced the steering sector on my 2005 John Deere L120 after putting up with sloppy steering for years. I wish I did it sooner!This steering sector was easy to replace and with the deck off it took well under an hour. John Deere could have designed it better. Have to take assembly and housing completely off to change. Bolts have nuts on other side of housing with no access.

I dislike that it doesn't last but bout an year.

Did the truck for my JD L120 which had been skipping gears. Only time will tell if it will last. But for the the price I'll be happy if I get 200 hrs it, considering the factory lasted 460hrs. Do yourself a favor and buy the plastic/nylon bushing for the steering shafts right away. Makes everything nice and tight again. As well as the fancy washers. Or bushings they call them I believe.

Update: Unfortunately, the lifespan for this is was about 2 years, with about 50 hours of use. The pinion gear lasted fine, but the sector plate stripped to the point that it lost all bite. Knocking 2 stars off.Replaced the stripped gears on my L118. Parts appear to be very good quality. Everything fits snugly, as they should, with no play in the steering. Very satisfied, especially at the price.

Make sure you check your model so you order the right parts. I have a John Deere L120 and it fit perfectly. I found a tutorial video on Youtube on how to install these parts and it wasn't too hard. Now my tractor/mower steers like it's brand new.
