There are slits in the seams at the hands so it is “party friendly” for eating and drinking.

Q: Would this fit someone who is 5 feet tall? About where would the "bottom" of the costume be?

No! I’m just under 5 ft and even with a large bust to help shorten the costume it still come over my knee. That being said however I didn’t mind the way it looked. I do think though because of how low the costume comes down it makes it harder to walk because the tail is then right at your feet.
