I wasn't sure since we haven't played in the pool yet, so I filled the sink with water and dropped it it. It's been 20 minutes and it's still floating :-) it's heavy, but it Does float!

Q: how indestructible is this to extreme chewing?

My power chewer (75lb Lab) has been trying to shred his for 2 months. So far, he has only managed a series of barely visible scratches where his teeth have scraped while gnawing on it. And I'll tell you, we call him the Toy Killer. He annihilated a Kong Extreme in about 2 hours! Branches and cute little stuffed fluffy things explode at just his glance. And it drives him crazy that he can't get a chunk out of this ball!!! He may eventually succeed, but so far it's truly indestructible. I also recommend the stuffable treat toy with the 3 knobbies...also a winner for my Lord Stanley! Good luck.

Q: Is this a large enough ball so my Rottweiler will not choke on it?

Yes the 3.25 (or 3.5) inch ball is large enough, but if your Rotti is a first class chewer, like our Doberman, you will need to "trim" the ball often to remove the loose pieces - we trim ours every night or so with a pair of pliers. It is being replaced today after a full year of very agressive chewing.

Q: Does this ball float? Looking to use it for fetch in the ocean.

This ball is HEAVY and does float, but, not high in the water .. The longish type with the string attached is much better for that purpose.
